hey guys, anyone using or perhaps played with the dunlop aerogel 300? can you tell me how it feels/plays? thinking of changing to this la...
*
i used this stick 6 for months together with my mfil300 b4 i sold it for k6.1team.. so far, not a bad racket.. good for serve and volley.. good for baseliner also.. however if compared to its elder brother, mfil300, mfil is more solid...but u might add some weight at the frame later according to ur taste. i took my aerogel if i want to play more backhand shots and volley..

just be careful coz aerogel 300 has 2 different spec even though it is same AG300, i bought mine which was 10.9 strung weight and 61stiffness.. i went to same store last month, the tauke showed me AG300 with lighter (cant remember its weight maybe around 10.75 oz) version and 64 of stiffness.

u can try 4d version, try 1st and then give ur feedback here.. if good i will buy it.. hehe tongue.gif
.. quite menyesal dowh, sold that racket for a wilson..i still cant get used to ksixone team..may be coz i grow up with dunlop sticks..

Oh really? No wonder my AG300 have different feeling. One is lighter compared to another. And i bought it and different shop, one from raymond and another one from david. Better change to Head Prestige MP. smile.gif smile.gif
*
dont know how to tell... it is subjective dude.. i still love using AG, it is maneuverable. quite regret selling it to get a kfactor.. moreover, dunlop is cheap.. price drops faster,, now waiting for AG 4D ...

Anyone here using Luxilon? Please state your string of choice, and what kind of deal you are getting if you don't mind sharing, thanks!
*
i used big banger.. strung it on my former AG300.. nice feel and control.. it is stiff, so i put on lower tension on it around 54 to 55lbs~
my ksixone, i strung with crossfire. lastly i put on babolat hibrid on my 400G, this one was my mistake, the cross/main tension not 'ngam'.. feel very stiff... rugi rm60 aku~ cry.gif

I am using Luxilion Alu power..string at 55lb on my aerogel 300...this is the first time i using poly string..it give me quite a lot power..and i need to some time to adjust it and still really donno how to volley with poly string.always volley over the baseline.cause i still donno how to adjust the power..haha..the spin was still ok for me~...
*
erm, luxilon rough, the yellowish coloured.. i wonder if its feel almost similar with alu power coz here out of stock already..anyone knows bout this string? icon_question.gif

and then how about hibrid combining luxilon with syn gut string? anyone has tried it also? read it on TW.. sound interesting..

yuppie..i thought all player range should range at around 50-60lbs??below 50lbs i think is too soft already.. i am stringing my luxilion at 55lbs..nice feel~..
*
depends on string and racket type also.. for my 400G i strung at 58-60lbs since it is a power racket, while 56lbs for my ksixone team..it is a control racket, so lower tension might increase it power level... finally, my mfil300 i use a dunlop poly string.. icon_rolleyes.gif yellow colour, dun remember the string name... the shop told me quite similar to luxilon, so i give a try, erm..not bad.. after all it is cheaper than luxilon.. worth it larr brows.gif

my mfil 300 is stiffer than thanksixone team... so it generates more power rthan ksixone team.. even though both have similar weight...

i play with the dunlop stick if i play a lot of drives from baseline, while i will play with my ksixone if i want to serve & volley

cool2.gif
well, i cant afford to play with heavier sticks, such ksixone 90, yes..feel very nice but i cant last longer with it, i m a skinny little guy ma~.. may be only 2 hours only...i tried several times b4..

ok...so that means for example i use natural gut, no matter i string it at 50lbs or 60lbs, it'll still retain the 'soft' feeling lar?

sifus out there....what is the normal tension u guys string? my friend told me crossfire is not suitable to be strung at 56lbs? is it true?
*
no lar.. i tested 56lbs to my ksixone.. just nice.. normally i strung up to 58lbs, but as i change my racket, i start with dropping some pounds 1st..afterall, 6 team is more control racket compared to my 400G.. so it helps increases its power..

hi mate,

thanks for replying. apart from babolat aeropro...i was also thinking of wilson k factor, k6one to be exact...any comments on this racquet?

i was previously using wilson, back in 90's - wilson pro staff kevlar with PWS...so damn old school. HEAD is a good brand, but somehow I don't fancy HEAD back then...

so most probably the k six one? federerrrr!! altho he wusses out to nadal, he is still da champ to me.. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
hello again.. never try k six one 90 b4, but i have tried nsix one 90.. it is nice when we hit consistently at its sweet spot... it is stiffer than my ksixone team.. it s too heavy for me, confirm i shall collapse after 3-4 hrs playing.. if u want a lighter version, ksix one 95 or k6one team would be great..

QUOTE(starcrossed @ Apr 23 2009, 04:16 PM)
the reason why im considering the ksixone 90 is because my old prostaff kevlar has the same head size. but i read a few pages back that the ksixone 90 is pretty stiff and also heavy. I dug out my old school prostaff kevlar to get it re-string today. Tension preferred is 60lbs. Been using that tension back in the 90's. i hope it will still work for me tho, as these days (getting older) im aiming to play a controlled consistent game rather than power.

i was checking out the babolat aeropro cortex, got quoted 570. looks nice, head size - 100, feels light, good grip and i also loved the design. Roddick's puredrive feels good too. they did not have the ksixone 90, but the shop fella handed me the pete sampras racquet to get a feel. He said it will be more or less the same weight as the ksixone 90. It felt heavy comparing to the babolats.

guess for now, maybe i'll stick to my old school wilson prostaff kevlar...we will see how it goes... cool2.gif

im in penang. i don't think we have any specialized tennis shops around. after 13 years, guess it's time for me to invest on a good pair of shoes as well. any babolat specialized outlets in KL? they look awesome. I'll probably plan a trip to KL one of these days. hope you folks can gimme an idea or 2 on where to go hunt for tennis shoes, racquets, bags in KL...

cheers!

will be playing again this saturday!  icon_rolleyes.gif
