I spoke to an SiS sales personnel today. According to her the launch today is strictly for media only. The phone itself would not be available until mid to end of May. Apparently they're still waiting for the stock to arrive, although they acknowledge that AP sets have already surfaced in the Malaysian market since the latest PC Fair.

No mention of price but expect it to hover around the $2,700 price range.

I'm also hoping that my K800 can tahan that long too... its keeps giving me No Network lately.

Soooooooo tempted to get the AP Diamond2... must resist...

although i dont have the chance to try it out myself, from the video review posted in youtube, you can definitely see that it's much more smoother and responsive.

According to this blogger, http://www.mobilehornet.com/, who was present at the launch yesterday, the TD2 will sell for $2,599. Good price.

Anyone has any idea what is the street price for PDA from the retail?

If retail is RM2,599, will the street price be around RM2400?

I think its safer 2 buy original set rather than AP... Since this is not a 1k phone...

sad.gif Still gotta wait.

oh well.. i already got my diamond 2, 2 weeks ago. Paid around RM2800++.
Its AP. The SIS set wont be out till 2nd quarter of the year. There is no difference in terms of warranty.. actually i think i got 15 months warranty from the AP supplier. Plus i get to do wonderful things like Hard SPL, update of cooked ROMS, etc without voiding my warranty.

By the way, it doesnt come with WM 6.5.

I was tempted to get from the same AP supplier. 15 months warranty is a good deal but when I saw the warranty card and the hotline number was a handphone number, I decided against it.

Well the shop that i normally buy my stuff from is trusted. Ive been buying from him for a few years now. And i changed phones once every 5 - 6 months. He's a decent guy that keeps to his word. That having said, at the end of the day, even if the warranty doesnt work out, but the shop that i buy from will honor it because im a regular.

Added on April 30, 2009, 4:00 pmIf anyone wants to know anything about the TD2, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer your questions.

I think many are wondering how good or bad is the battery life. Well ive been using it for about 2 weeks now. And i can say that the battery is pretty decent. Im an average user with around 10-20 calls a day, 40-50 sms, wifi for around 10 mins a day and bluetooth for my headset. Fully charged at 3am and by 24 hours, im left with around 40%.

Bearing in mind the battery for the TD2 is 1100mah. While the first Diamond was 900mah. The difference in terms of mah isnt much, but the performance is almost as good as the SE Xperia (1500mah)

I think the voice dialing prog has been removed from this ROM. But not a problem. You can always get it back xda developers forum
