Tried updating the firmware of my bro's W995 but SEUS tells me that its already on the latest firmware

no la. not AP set only will happen that. sometimes even Ori set will happen.
however there is always an option to reinstall FW. just reinstall it. btw, IMHO, this issue is not because of its set is AP or Ori. however, in AP sets, ur phone MAY(read : may) die if u update use SEUS(high risk for those with tattoos only!!) |
