Wah, long time never play and I'm invisible already ah?
*
No-lah, you're not invisible. You just went missing yourself and for a very long time (secret training?). Everyone was wondering where you were. Hey welcome back! Not only you missed the 1U tournament, but The Mines one as well. Plus the many mini ones at Outpost.

QUOTE(CalvinTeh99 @ Aug 17 2009, 09:52 AM)
Thumbs up for Alan, Rawfish, Quistreous, Tengfei, Masteralvin!  rclxms.gif

This was my 1st tournament.
Im not quite sure whether to join this tournament on the day b4, so I decided why not go there & see whats going to happened.
It took me an hour to find that sony centre on the old wing, I was mixed up the old wing with new wing lol..  rclxub.gif
After hesitated for a while, finally get myself registered, n tell myself there is nothing to lose instead it will be a great exposure.

I was so nervous on the game, hand was shaking, simple combo cant execute, even mixed up the KKK with PPP  doh.gif  no wonder my Final Atomic Buster cannot come out  vmad.gif
No doubt getting last place in the group stage.
Anyhow, i found it was a great experince after all. Watching those pros playing is just awesome!

I have a long way to go, need more training, perhaps come back for the 2nd tournament.

P/S: Where can get this original game for PC?  blush.gif  so that I can train online
*
Yes, it's all good exposure! Tourney jitters happen to everyone except Mr. Chucky who is the source of people's jitters himself. LOL just kidding... (?)

As Zangief, many people should fear you close range so you need to also know how to get in close to opponenets who try their best to stay away from you.

29th August? Cool, will be there - about the time, last Sunday's timing was pretty good, maybe aim to start it earlier at about 2pm instead of 3 since its a tag team and all?

Btw, had lots of fun, managed to get through the qualifiers to be beat down once again by Aiman sad.gif but at least it was closer than last time. Too bad most of the paddies got KO-ed but at least we had some pad representation (gj Jason!). I think having a group for paddies was a great idea as many SFIV ppl in Malaysia like myself find it hard to shell out almost 400-600 plus for a game which we may not be playing in a few month's time. I'm guessing this is going to change after this tournament, what more with the almost clean sweep sticks win in the KO rounds.

Good job again to the organisers, well done! Looking forward to the 29th one!
Will be there unless I have to work till late or jaga gf smile.gif

A Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 stick would cost around RM320 or less now. You can always use it for other fighting, shooting or beat-em-up games for the PS3 or PC. It's a real solid stick which covers many important areas (big sized - sits nicely on the lap or stably on a table, good room for the palms, Sanwa stick, decent push-buttons, plug & play connectivity.

Hey dude I like the way you think. Seriously if more people really get involved in the local SF scene, like having the burning desire to learn and commit to improving themselves, AND share information with others, I am all set to run a dedicated forum - as long there's helping hands.

Bonus:

1) New Asian/Japanese Mad Catz TE FightSticks. They made their debut in the God's Garden tournament 2 weeks ago. Since these are non-SF-licensed, they should cost cheaper once they reach our shores or online at Play-Asia. Yay!

2) Ladies mini-tournament, held at God's Garden too. Oh damn! I heard they could kick-ass too, and the winner was a Blanka. If anybody REALLY cares, the guy in white is Nemo (he and Nuki's among the best Chun Li players in the world) and one of the announcers is KSK, the organizer. If anyone cares. LOL.

Problem is I play on the Xbox... so if I want to get a stick I'd have to get one for that console unless there's a multi-platform one available.

Just figured how funny it is saying that in a Playstation forum lol...
*
Sorry dude, yes yes I recall you're a 360 player. Multi platform controller? Microsoft is not going to let that happen. sad.gif

*
I think you meant to say TWO bars for FADC outs smile.gif. So that's 3 bars for its use.

In certain situations you may just want to let Gief 'have it' in the sense of taking the punishment for a blocked EX-Green Hand, especially if he has a wide stamina (Gief can take it) lead and your confidence level of winning the round - and the opponent has little punishment options. This is because you want to conserve meter for perhaps, FAB or another EX-Green Hand for knockdown mind games.

Ahhhh. Remember that there's a Sony pad-tourney in Penang this 30th August, Quist? Is that a coincidence BenX2 and WenX2 will be tagging along?

This Friday? Fridays are tight for me so most likely I can't make it. I usually finish work 6-7pm on work days, and give and take 1hr+ to EX-Psycho Crusher through the traffic jam I still can't reach DU in time. And no, I can't teleport, how I wish to biggrin.gif

Actually my friend, you are correct. The EX-Psycho Crusher I tried against the Vios in front of me while driving along Jalan Mahameru did not work. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

My car did not have the frame advantage to brake in time thus was punished by the common laws of physics.

Dictator's feeling the pain now from the collision and will even feel the pinch when the workshop bill for both cars are presented to me.

Should not have tried wake up EX-Psycho while it suddenly rained because the opponent was blocking. biggrin.gif

Hi there...missed your thread...next gathering will be sometime next week...if everything is ok...

OK planning for SATURDAY SF4 FRIENDLY TOURNEY...

If everyone is ok, then we go ahead...please guys let me know....
*
Alan! I think some of us are more free on Sundays, like myself and I believe the Shadaloo gang also. Nick is perpetually free, and Big Mac too after his work hours nearby. Mike's based on his BOSS' permission. Don't know about the rest.

If Sat's fine then I'll try my best to make it for the late supper session, if any.

And any news on the Subang tourney? Hope to get more details soon!

Those who are selling their sticks usually have more than one sticks. Modding sticks its a kind of Art and Skill + Hobby ( for some )

but you can't always mod your own sticks..so they buy new sticks and mod it until perfection..sell for pride..

its like selling Art paintings.. the artist just like to draw and people tend to buy.

but if you want to DIY, then you should buy standard sticks, and mod it yourself, and go find your fav artwork and replace it your self...but it is not as easy as you imagined... those who are serious have a tool box and the tool box alone is bigger than the HRAP3.

leave it to the professionals.

go look for Professor-RAWFISH.. who holds a PHD for modding sticks.

I love arcade sticks and the way they respond to every single input press. They allow us to perform techniques and combos which are near impossible on a regular pad. Nowadays when at arcades I'll just stare at the machine panels and wonder what parts the cabinet is using. After winning the round I'll still keep tapping the buttons like playing a piano. I'll look at Autopay machines and wonder how responsive their buttons can be if switched to Sanwa or Seimitsu. I keep double-tapping the blue LED button multiple times when I enter the Cineleisure carpark...

Confess it, you guys DO think of these things too right!

QUOTE(kileak @ Aug 25 2009, 11:11 AM)
Random link dumps :

http://www.round1.sg/ - A guy I met on GGPO that runs a fighting game website in Singapore. Come on guys, I'm sure most of us are tech-savvy enough to at least run a forum? If necessary, I'll create a sub-main hosting a forum/CMS on one of my good friend's website(suggested - techthrow.eatnplay.com.my)... or even better, techthrow.outpost.com.my? *hint hint, Alan...*

Suggestions for website name, maybe? I don't mind doing the templates and set-ups for the website (Help would be appreciated as well).

http://www.youtube.com/atatashai - Some singapore tourney videos. Also, Shen Yu @ Round1.sg suggested that we should go down to Singapore for some matches, and perhaps some of them come  up for matches as well. Anyone?

Arcade button mods :
http://www.djtechtools.com/2009/06/22/more-arcade-buttons
http://techtools.myshopify.com/products/arcade-buttons

I tinker around with DJ equipments at my free time, and come across this mod; interesting usage of arcade buttons. They're even selling the Sanwa buttons at their site biggrin.gif. I suppose the buttons for music equipment needs accurate, minimal input time, and Sanwa buttons fits this need perfectly.

P.S. Do add me to your MSN : jirwong@gmail.com smile.gif
*
Website and forum setup. One of the things I wanted to do before SF4 was even released on the consoles and LYN had its first SF4 thread. I have no time to maintain it alone hence scrapped that idea.

I'm very much willing to contribute content and raise discussions, if there's a good crowd who'll contribute as well.

I couldn't have suggested something better than mikeeeee's:

f i g h t e r s . m y

1) It's short, simple and easy to type

2) Easy to remember! It's a common, recognizable word

3) The .my gives us our identity. .com domains add on unnecessary length and makes us commercialized

4) The word itself represents 'challenge', 'competition' - things fighting games are associated with where people can relate to

5) Can be an avenue for other fighting games e.g. Tekken, GG, BB, Sailormoon, etc.

6) Working with this flexible word opens a lot of options for subdomains: forum.fighters.my, street.fighters.my, king.of.fighters.my, modding.fighters.my, tekken.fighters.my, catherine@female.fighters.my

7) Early internet roots of the US fighting game scene remembers fighters.net, home of excellent combo videos previously unseen by the eyes of the world. Big domain lawsuit happened, thus shoryuken.com later on took over as the next big thing and the rest is history:

8) Designing t-shirts and other creative media will be easier in future, and cheaper (shorter name)

9) With said t-shirts, we can wear with pride as people will look at it and go, "hmmmm wassat, fighters.my... wanna go checkitout whenigohome" instead of "lol.. nurdzz... <longstreetfighterdomainname.com>". Just like when we see kakimotoracingtunedbyrazoautomotive.blogspot.com URLs on car windscreens, get what I mean? smile.gif

10) It's not taken.

Anyone wants to be part of the marshall team for this Saturday's tourney at Subang Parade, 11am to 8pm?

Maybe Alan can clarify on the rule. Maybe he meant taunting in real life... which really warrants a real life beatdown. *piak* *piak* *PIAK*
