I swear and point to the TV each time I fight Alan's Vega hohohoho biggrin.gif

Added on August 27, 2009, 1:08 amGuys with XBOX360s and PS3 sticks (Mr. MCH biggrin.gif), in case you don't know you can get the Xconverter 360 to get the HRAP3 to work. You will still need to boot up the console with a 360 pad/stick to bypass the MS authentication.

Ok, good luck with the tournament guys. All's fair in love, war and SF4.

Saturday. 29/08/2009. Sony Style Subang Parade. Registration free, 12pm onwards. Group matches start 2pm. Knock-out matches should be interesting and will definitely have upsets.

To people who simply think they are not as good or are just average, all the better reason to attend. It's first-hand experience at real pressure where everyone plays to win. Even if you don't want to participate, you can still be a spectator and meet like-minded fans who simply are there because they love the game. I think any good or decent player will be more than happy to share tips too.

Happy to share this, though I'm just a regular player myself.

Yeah, Big Mac / Kodanshi really really deserved the win. He works hard with his character and has not really been successful in each tournament and always came to very close finishes.

In fact, I think both Abels (the other one being Vern, who took 3rd place and plays on pad) did excellent. They both fought against an army of Giefs all the way - which is quite a bad character match-up for their character.

1st runner-up keen2keen made his first SF4 tournament debut, though he's no stranger to previous SF series tourneys - and what an impressive debut indeed! His Gief were among the best ones who showed up at the tourney, all with different styles. I think he really left a big impression on most players who were (unfortunately) crushed by him on his way to the finals...

We also had a pad Elf (4th place), Rei, who had a case of tourney jitters and missed his RSF, Run-Stop-Fierce (hard punch) loop many times, because in offline play he can usually score 3-4 RSFs successfully which is very very crucial to winning with this tofu character.

Many tourney regulars returned today with very evident improved skill, which just shows how important it is to gain experience and learn from mistakes is, when playing SF competitively.

To everyone who attended, thank you so much for coming and making this an exciting event (especially to our Muslim bros who's fasting)... let's await from Alan to bring more good news of more tourneys in future (none so far). As for myself, I think I will start to resume my training as I really want to participate in the next one! Tak tahan already kekekeke..

The finals were really nail-biting. It was down to the last match (best of 3) and last round (best of 3) and last pixels of health... a real classic match which really left huuuuuuuuuuge pressure on both finalists... and their expressions of relief after it concluded was truly PRICELESS!!

I think videos of the finals were not captured completely due to insufficient memory card storage.... which brings to point - YOU HAVE TO BE THERE IN PERSON NEXT TIME! (thanks in advance, MasterAlvin smile.gif)

I captured the finals completely, though not as high res as alvin's camera, will upload to youtube when im not too lazy  tongue.gif , even though i was just an audience I couldnt breath for the last few seconds of the final, can't imagine the amount of pressure the 2 finalist were feeling

Hope to see it uploaded soon, then. Thanks! You must be Kelvin... nice to see you around in each tourney. Those matches were nail-biting... me and Alan were so so tension also smile.gif

Added on August 30, 2009, 6:13 amBTW after this tournament...Zangief 5.0 is Complete..

im starting to lock & pin down opponents after they are knocked down ..either they roll, dp, fA, based on the character, it's harder for them to run away smile.gif
5.0... seriously I agree that you've improved a LOT in such a short period of time. And played well despite a loose HP button biggrin.gif

Another thing I'd like to share is, the match between Lim Kah Hong vs Vern (Ryu vs Abel) was very exciting also. Both down to the last bar of health. Both players really really improved a lot since the previous tournaments and if you watched the video, clearly there's an upset at the end... it was so close!

Hi Kileak, you can get a T-driver with multiple hex-driver, torx-driver and screwdriver heads for RM18.XX at Ace Hardware or any other hardware store. I think the one at Ikano has very limited options.

If you are in KL you can try Pasar Road, and I'm sure you're familiar with the area since you mentioned you've been toying with AV/DJ equipment too.

Or when we meet next I can bring my arcade toolbox. It should not be hard to fix if it's wiring.

bolt driver to open up the inner casing? use plier and give it a few turns...tat'll loosen the nut then u can use ur fingers to turn them out. im sure u can find a plier...
*
You may run into some problems with the bottom/top-middle recess as the area is too small to insert pliers. After putting back the spring washer, you will not be able to tighten the nuts unless you have a hex-driver. But I do have to say that using hands = real man's work biggrin.gif

Me and phyurix is actually planning to do a similar gathering like you guys' outpost gathering but the only place that we can use is a tattoo bar... hahaha sweat.gif

I pity the person who loses when playing at the tattoo bar. 1 loss = 1 tattoo on forehead

yo rawfish(and anyone else who're good with modding)

so my hrap 3, that screwthing(not sure if its a screw or what) one of them is rusting lol.. how dya fix that? ive heard something about using a stainless steel replacement..
*
That's very common for the HRAP3 due to the sweat biggrin.gif. It uses M3-sized bolts, each 16mm in length. Not sure about Japan, but in Malaysia it's hard to find in normal hardware stores. It's available at dedicated nuts + bolts suppliers but so far I haven't found the same one as the HRAP3 (it's found at akihabarashop.jp though). The ones I have all have different heads, some look nicer actually.

I've seen stainless steel ones rust too biggrin.gif. What I do is, I spray a coat of antirust before I install them - so far so good.

storeroom? loser sit in storeroom?

wah no wonder can improve!

Sounds like a good punishment! But I think hanz's tattoo bar punishment is better. Loser gets one on the forehead.

This is a public service announcement! Click on the link below from my sig to take a look at Rawfish's beautifully moded TE Stick!

Wow JuzJoe, that's very hard marketing there = thanks! I love you ahahaha. I don't think anyone's gonna shell out that many bucks for arcade sticks (when there's RM300 stock HRAP3s) so I may just throw it into eBay when I'm free. It's kinda hard for some people to accept my firm price, as I really do not believe in jacking it up then providing a 'best price' via PM to make it look like a really good deal.

Having dual sticks (Sanwa + Seimitsu) has its advantages too, I like Seimitsu for Sagat, Ryu and Sanwa (square gate) for Viper, Elf, Rufus, Dictator. Can anyone believe me I've not found my true character? I love this game too much to just stick to one character.

Ah, that's just me babbling along.

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEEN2KEEN! bday.gif party.gif cheers.gif

I just bought the PC version over Steam because of the discount. Probably to match the retail discounts for the console releases in the States (a sign they're getting rid of excess stock to prepare for SF4 Dash within half a year?) I think this year's Black Friday won't have anything this good ($19.99) but could be wrong. Last year, BioShock went for $4.99 but it's a dated game then.

Alan: I'm looking for kakis to watch The Final Destination tonight, so if anyone's game for a 9pm+ show, we can hangout at Outpost before that time.

Grabbie: I don't have a PC which can run SF4 successfully yet ler. Need to upgrade the whole damn thing first smile.gif

Hi Alvin,

I have not upgraded my PC yet, but don't bother awaiting for me to come aboard - it's still a long way. Bought the game as it was on offer.
