In KL, almost impossible for around Rm4k. I remembered there was a Swamp Ash one in Woh Fatt for around Rm5650.
Your best choice is either through Dead Eye, or go down to Singapore yourself and get it.

And no, Bentley doesn't carry Gibsons OR Epiphone.

street price in US is usually 30% less that.

but since this is malaysia, expect to pay more than the MSRP...unless u go singapore.

I saw one sold in Bangkok new for about RM 3800? more or less...but that was last year. If you could get your hands on one..it's really a player and a smooth neck.

I have Gibson Les Paul with the powerful p90's pickup...and Fender Stratocaster American Classic Customshop with texas Special pickups.

Really....after playing the Les Paul...the Fender sounded so thin and...funny! I'm not biased cos I have both...and I'm merely stating a fact...so you Fender die-hards no need to flame me. LOL!

I bought the Les paul from Woh Fatt more than 10 years ago. That time it was already more than RM3.5k! Bought the Fender from Bentley in 1999 for the same price too.

Is you like Les Paul...go for the p90's. They are amazing. Not blur and dark tone like humbuckers. P90's have garnered great reviews for its super strong 'bite' and 'in your face' mids. It's a very beefy pickup...equally adept with Rock and Roll, metal and Pop.

Yea , The legendary P90 crunchy sound is so versatile, especially for Rock N' Roll n Blues... By the way. Can you show a picture of your lovely 10 year-old Gibson Guitar ?

u could, but woh fatt are no longer distributors for gibson.
if u really want, can always call sweelee in SG and ask them to...
if u have time, taking a trip down and up etc, u will still save money.

arrrrrrrrrrrhhh... It's really that hard to get a genuine Gibson here... Unlike in U.S.. everything is in The Guitar Center in Hollywood. I've heard The Guitar Store Distributes Gibsons too.. How about if I Order from them ? It's really costy and troublesome to back and forth from Singapore.

Wouldn't it be more costly and troublesome to order it from the US? You know, shipping costs, declaring and claiming it at customs and all that crap?
Or just PM Dead Eye and see if he can get it back from Singapore for you.

its definitely more troublesome to order from the US.
take a day off, buy bus tickets from 1u (RM115 two way), save money eating in the bus or buying from stalls when the bus driver takes a break in msia. reach singapore, take the mrt and walk to the shop to your guitar, take the bus home. all in 1 day.
total cost? RM115 + mrt ticket cost + some cheap malaysian food

uhh, thats cos guitar center has a major share in gibson?
malaysia has no gibson distributor, swee lee singapore handles both sides...so basically guitar store are just a dealer.

They said they get it from their dealer... Maybe they get it from Swee Lee though .. next time i will try to quote it at Woh Fatt..

then once u get price from sweelee, u ask guitar store to try to match it

RM5000++ wow... U could save the extra and make the trip down/up instead lol. But I guess everyone needs to make some money in the process esp. at times like this.
Btw Gibson studios (Fireburst, Alpine White, Wine) are discontinued. Only the worn cherry/brown and ebony is in production. Ever considered those as well?

You have to be weary that there are 2 different pickups for the worn studios/vm. I believe the newer ones are now equipped with BurstbuckerPros whilst some are the 490R & 498T.
Just double check your specs when you order.

Are you sure the rests of Worn Studio & Ebony are Discontinued ? But anyway , The Les Paul studio I want is Vintage Mahogany (Worn Brown) . Ya, I've heard from someone else there are two types of different pickups equipped on Les Paul Studio Vintage Mahogany -Either The BurstBucker Pro or 498R,498T... By the way . the official Gibson.com states only 498R,498T in the Specs of Les Paul studio Vintage Mahogany .

Do you HAVE to get a Gibson?
I mean, I tried many Gibson Studios in Guitar Center in the US (when I was also in my Gibson = Good, Epi = SuX0rs stage), and I still find the Korean made Epiphone Customs a better match to my playing style. The Zakk Wylde Epi Custom was a much better Les Paul compared to 3 Studios I tried in the US with a smoother neck, tone and sustain...... of course, the EMG-HZ helped as well A quick upgrade to Active EMGs (like what I did) and the Les Paul really did come to life. Sure, the graphics isn't for everyone, but it's still a better guitar in my book.

But if you REALLY want a Gibson, the BFG is also a very good guitar at around the same price range. The P-90 in the Neck really does make quite a bit of difference and the whole guitar's sound itself stands out better then the Studio in my opinion.

Ya , I;ve tried out Gibson Les Paul BFG as well .. .the only thing I don't like is the Pickup selector in lower postiton rather than at the normal les paul position.. They rewired it as a Toggle Kill Switch.. I don't really like that.. And Seriously I prefer P90 at bridge and Burstbucker at Neck...

Again, personal preference......
I'm a Kill Switch abuser as well...... On my Les Pauls, it's always Neck Volume off, and then flick between that and my Bridge pickup quickly for a tremolo effect. I'm very sure a good technician can easily rewire it the other way round for you.

The BFG was very tempting for me, but I figured my Zakk Wylde LP is already heavy enough (in tone and in weight) so I don't need another one like that.

Also, I want to stress out, this is to MY personal preference. I'm sure you find your reasons for an LP Studio, and I totally respect that. Say what you want, it's still a Gibson Les Paul.

But I find that for the Studios especially, you really have to test it yourself and get the feel for it before making your purchase. Which is why I strongly recommend NOT ordering it online and just spend sometime traveling to get that perfect guitar.

Alright , Thank you very much for the advice . But the Problem is , If I order it through The Guitar Store or Woh Fatt , I still have to pay the deposit before I can feel it on my hands... that's really bad they don't stock a series of Gibson Les Pauls.

no fretboard inlays are sexy, thats what tempts me about the BFG.
what i dont like about the BFG is the snakeskin looking maple top...
there was a limited edition plain top BFG tho...if i could get my hands on that would be good.

No problems here without the inlays which I though would have trouble with. I though sure kelam kabut on the fretboard but surprisingly i didn't need them, but yeah it does look sexy...just like working on a blank canvas.

Anyway you could try these instead sweet
Inlay Stickers

The stickers can tahan aa? Concerned they might peel off easily, especially after applying fret oil.
