I don't think gov really want to protect Proton by imposing high tax, its the income they generate from the tax. Protecting Proton is just an excuse to justify the high tax. And also to go income to cronies via the AP system.

The only car tested in the EURO NCAP is the Waja, otherwise all Proton cars since the Waja, all are tested inhouse using NCAP criteria, this is one such example :
