htc desire Z or blackberry torch..
tell me what you like and why...

Prefer HTC Desire Z since it is superior to the Torch in almost everyway. Judging by the reviews the Torch isn't all that good. Sure it has a new OS and design and whatnot but the experience is let down by its less powerful hardware. If you are absolutely in need of a BB handset I recommend the Bold 9800 instead of this.

I thought the price for iPhone4 was around rm2100.
And HTC Desire is rm1700. So add a bit only.
But what are the main differences between those 2?
Anyone updated their HTC to 2.2 Android? Do we need to pay for that?

Many thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure iPhone 4 does not cost RM2100, rather RM2500.

RM800 difference is a lot for most of us here, y'know. Main difference is of course the OS, different processor (Snapdragon vs A4), screen resolution, price, look, name, screen technology.

And I have a HTC Dream, dunno whether that counts or not, running Android 2.2. No need to pay, but you do need to root your phone and install a custom 2.2 ROM. Go here for help:

Thanks for the reply!

I thought that a Singapore iPhone 4 16gb costs <rm2200?

How's the photo quality on your HTC Desire? Not so good right?
Photo qualities are important to me and recording videos as I travel overseas a lot so need to need to capture a lot smile.gif

For <rm1700 category, it's the Desire vs Nokia N8 but there is a clear winner here.
What are the main issues with N8?

It seems that I'll just stick to my SE C905 until a good smartphone comes out that can match N8's camera qualities.
C905's photos are nice but the videos are just average and the sound quality is bad.

I don't have a Desire..

Desire>N8 definitely overall. N8 isn't going to last long. The revamped OS is too little, too late to challenge Android or iOS. Get a Milestone XT720, at least that delivers good camera quality in the sub RM1700 category.

about galaxy s vibrant t959, i think it is not really wise to take an android phone with no 3g as some widget need to be updated constantly, which give u, with 3g, instant update, compared to no 3g.

Vibrant has 3G but lacks a front-facing camera. Plus I would get the Captivate instead of the Vibrant since its a wee bit cheaper, and looks better too.

Hey guys,

Currently I am arguing amount of my friends.

3 iPhone fans ( 2 of them own an iPhone 4 ), and ME, HTC Desire HD fan base of facts.

A friend of mine considering between this 2 smartphone and I recommend him Desire HD. Since there 3 iPhone fans, I had hard time to explain why should should HTC Desire HD instead of iPhone 4. I always pawned by "iPhone has many games !"

Question is, if you fall into my situation, how would you explain amount of them why should consider Desire HD?

Example:
1. Desire HD running Android 2.2
2. Better camera quality
3. .......
(Sorry for out of topic.)

Hardware is subjective to personal preference since the hardware on both devices are nearly the same, plus its pretty much Android vs iOS. So, OS-wise:

1. Android is more open (i.e. you can do more things)
2. Android is very customizable (i.e. you can change the look and feel of your device)
3. Android's Marketplace has a lot of FREE apps (i.e. compared to the App Store where most apps are paid)
4. Android has a better notification system than iOS
5. Android has a better sync system

people have reported that the C6's performance is subpar, i.e. it lags quite a bit. If I were you I'd get the C5-03, cause its newer and faster. However, if you have the budget I recommend you to expand your choices to include Android devices. They are much better than their Symbian counterparts.

HD7 has very limited apps and I'd advise that you hold your money atm as iphone 5 rumored to come in June/July
