My younger brother already has an alpha 200.. with the single lens kit. not sure what lens that is, or if it can/is suitable to be paired with the a700. assuming budget is below rm 2k for a lens, and im looking to pair with one really good overall lens, which would it be? is this SAL18250 a good overall lens? where can i get a it at a good price? hoping for some good pointers here. thanks heaps mate!

yea ur brother's kit lens can be used on ur a700...

16105 and 18250...

16105 has better image quality...depends on u actually...Do u need to zoom until 105 or 250? another good lens..tammy 1750 f/2.8...very sharp..

how much is a tammy 1750? 1750 means 17-50 right? and 18250 means 18-250? how about prices? cheers

SAL16105 cost around RM1600 if im not mistaken
if you are looking for a nice walk around lens, for portrait or landscape, this lens is recomended
go google some reviews on it, and you will know better
i believe you can get good price at sungai wang area, but must know how to bargain as well
another thing, dont get cheated for filter prices
camera shop loves to cheat buyer when buying lens together with filter

tammy 1750 f/2.8 is also around the same price
but, if you are getting 1 lens for now, i will suggest SAL16105

i think this had been quoted before, i dun remember who, maybe it was din, if it were me, i will go for sal16105..because 16 is wider than 24..if i am not mistaken la.. , correct me if i am wrong...

but then, no reply..
so i decided to try it myself
but i cant compare because i dont have SAL16105 as the comparison

but the seller told me something like SAL16105 IQ is slower than SAL24105
dont know what he means though

i'm still undecided either to get an UWA or get a Tammy 1750 as kit lens replacement.. last time im more towards 1750, but since i already have a flash, been thinking to get a Siggy 1020 as i can explore n learn other style of photography with an UWA.. kit lens already a good lens, and with a flash, i believe it can do wonders.. what say others??
