fas29, it might be that the flash was not in TTL. If you use an adapter it will certainly not have TTL. Also, angle is important - if you shoot the wrong angle, even with TTL, you'll get a bright stripe across the top of your image.
Wonka: The Sigma 30mm F1.4 as you know has a much better angle. That alone justifies it because you can leave your kit lens at home! I'd say it is sharp; don't know how sharp compared to the Sony, but definitely sharp. |

A200 VS D60 NooB Comparison (Subjective= In My Opinion)
No fanboyism: Just purely my observations and testing experienced So i had my hands on both cameras, short comparison Build quality: D60 has an upperhand, feels more solid, tightly fir, blends together well. The A200 is a bit creeky here and there, but still overall well built .Nevertheless, both are much better than the plasticky Canon 1000D. D60> A200 >1000D Winner: Nikon Ergonomics: D60 feels a bit small to me, the grip area doesn't seem to blend in well with my fingers. The A200 has a larger body grip, more squarish and a bit more seperated. Feels heavier too, which is great when u've got heavier lenses, and it feels more balanced. Winner: Sony Noise: Side to side comparison, the D60 is a TAD better in noise control. Sony A200 wasn't THAT bad, just trailing behind by a little, not by a large margin. Before testing the D60, i would have anticipated a Bigger difference, however it didn't turn out to be that way, again, all to my eyes' comparison Winner: Nikon AWB: Here, the Sony excels. Virtually kills the AWB of nikon. As you can see from the pic, there's a TONE of differences between both cams. the Sony known for its excellent AWB which represents the color temp(from real life view) accurately. & rightly so it deserves it. no debate here. Winner : Sony ![]() IQ: Both are comparatively good, so to speak. Sony tends to be towards the soft side, more refined way of presenting it. IQ seems to be more natural, mimicking the real life condition. Nikon on the other hands, produces a little too VIVID colors. Everything seems to be a little overdone here and there. Colors are no doubt punchy and very contrasting. Again depending on individual's preferences. Perhaps a too little much IQ fixings, makes the output a little too harsh and 'fake'. I'm a naturalist, so i would prefer Sony. Winner: None, Subjective All in all, given the other features(crucial only) Sony (9AF, Built in SSS, RM1.45K, wireless, larger body grip) vs Nikon [3AF, Powerful AF Assist Lamp (which i like),better lense built quality(which i believed has a little better IQ] Which to go? Easy, if your looking for features:performance- > Sony Brand Name,AF Assist lamp,Probably don mind spending more on VR lense, punchy & Vivid color -> Nikon Again, those are all my Noobie statements, given i've been into photography for around 2months only This post has been edited by kucingfight: Feb 16 2009, 10:01 PM |
