Night Mode, so no flash. I think its pretty decent, but you'll need a steady hand.

QUOTE(raptorclans @ Oct 11 2009, 11:52 PM) Hi guys, I know this might be silly questions to ask in an i8910 HD thread, but I'm really tempted to get one, only these few things bother me. I'm the type that likes to be very sure about a purchase, especially one this expensive. Hope you guys can give your views... So basically, if you want a ready to go phone, without needing any customizations and doesnt need the heavy features then go for iPhone.1. How's the usability of the phone so far? Any problems, quirks, etc? My current phone is an almost 2-year old Samsung and there are many occurances of ppl calling me and it rings on their phone but on my side it doesn't. My service provider said it's due to the phone's software. This prob alone was enuff to make me jump ship. Wonder if it's a Samsung thing... Might you been accidentally pushed the call buttons though. I used to do that all the time. 2. Is there really lag while using the phone? I heard reviews mentioning it... There is, but cooked/hacked firmware eliminates that problem. Come to the dark side! Muahahaha~ 3. Is it true that there are also hardly any applications for this phone? I'm kind of on the fence between this and the iPhone 3GS, mostly due to the other having more apps, but on the other hand this one has better overall features... You can basically use every S60 5th Edition softwares, especially after it was hacked. If its hacked, you can just install Nokia OVI and can get every softwares available for N97 or 5800. Heck, it runs GPS well, and even managed to be a wireless modem/router. 4. Does the size make it uncomfortable in the pocket? I know, silly question, u can't exactly take a unit at the Samsung store and put it in your pocket now, could u? depends. if you're used to carrying a wallet inside your pockets with you, it just feels natural 5. User-friendliness... sms is rather important, so may I know whether it's easy to use in this department? I think its enough for me. I love its qwerty interface, but my friend love the traditional phone interface. Its up to your personal preferences. The web opens every sites I've tried so far. For Lowyat, I subcribe the threads I follow on the built in RSS feeds. Thanks guys, these should help me decide between the two phones~ But, if you willing to tweak and customize your settings and firmwares, and wants 8mp camera, HD video recording, drag and drop video playable without converting, OmniaHD is a phone for you. QUOTE(raptorclans @ Oct 15 2009, 08:53 AM) Hey guys, I'm almost 90% sure on deciding on this phone... If you're using Samsung, then just back up the contacts by either put it on your memory card, or using the PC Suite.- any tips and pointers on what to note, look out for or expect when buying one? - any quick tips on transfering contacts from another phone? i'm currently using a samsung too... - heard about some new firmware update. am I to check if the phone has this loaded? Thanks! |

QUOTE(raptorclans @ Oct 15 2009, 09:32 AM) hmm... what memory card does the i8910 use? mine currently uses microSD Micro SD is fine. Yeah, can backup with the software.ooh... didn't know u cud backup contacts using pc suite (admittedly didn't explore d software much If you're transfering contacts between Nokia/SE to Samsung though, the best way is by using Nokia's/SE's software to sync with Outlook, then sync to Samsung's software. |

The problem with speed version is, HyperX removes many things that I like, such as communities and such. Unless he provides them as seperate instal, I guess I would stick to his non-speed versions.

QUOTE(raptorclans @ Nov 5 2009, 07:56 AM) dunno lar why this forum so quiet... btw i'm still excited wif my week-old phone... a colleague of mine got himself the 16gb version as well Maybe because people dont have much problems with the phone itself. Except for me and bad luck!, I dont think there are other people who are in here who actually have real problems with HD, to a part they need to send for warranty. |

QUOTE(raptorclans @ Nov 5 2009, 01:34 PM) oh... bout the web, yeah i've had 2 probs while browsing before (but rarely happens) Upgrade the firmware. Easiest way is by bringing it to the Samsung center near you.1. it suddenly hangs n no matter wat u do nothing happens... unless u take out the batt 2. why issit when u press stop it exits? =.= |

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Jan 1 2010, 03:42 PM) Hi all, just curious what is the best web browser and IM application (live messenger) for Omnia HD? Dude. Opera Mobile 10 beta. Use THAT!I tried Opera Mini Beta 5 and it seems quite slow. Heard it consumes a lot of memories... Thanks. Added on January 1, 2010, 3:49 pmFor IM applications, Slick or Palringgo would be my best choice. This post has been edited by emino: Jan 1 2010, 03:49 PM |
