right! and so why didnt you PM about how much a full deore groupset on a bike would cost instead of "embarassing" me by saying that i am out of date in that respect in a posting here.
so you didnt think that would "embarass" me before you wrote it?
i certainly am not "embarassed", i stand corrected by your comment but i feel rather sorry for you if you get all worked up just because i said that guy's written english needs improving. things like this happen everyday and embarass no one, so i dont see how it should be bad for him to hear that.
of course, you can take most popular way nowadays which is to "stop using that language because we are crap at it" and just use whichever mother tongue you are comfortable in.

u could just have PMed him instead of posting the whole thing for the public to view? that's called "embarassment" to the public. i don't see it as sincerity there.
*
if you are going to put things into public view, the you have to stand up to public scrutiny.

just my xt rd problem during my mid race, it keep jump gear n hard to shift to certain gear...

n that place is full of mud, using new kenda tired more worst as it stick all the mud in my tire, make my ride more heavy...

overall, can say satisfy la...
*
your XT RD is a shadow type? i hear they are not so good in mud, they lose shifting precision. or maybe you bent your RD hanger that can also cause gears to jump. what kendas you using?

oh i wont say stop using that language cause we're crap at it. im not like those China people. tongue.gif

ah, u old folks don't really wanna lose at an argument eh?

okay lah. no prob. he should take it positively into improving his english. smile.gif
*
what do you mean by those china ppl? what has this got to do with race?
if anything, the ppl who went and caused a huge traffic jam in KL on saturday and got teargas in their eyes for their troubles were by and large Malay.
really this is not about winning or losing. it is a life lesson, if you cannot take criticism even when it is constructive, you are not going to be much good in life because everybody is a critic and will say even meaner things.
in any case, i have no argument with you, just a different viewpoint to yours.
perhaps, this inability to take criticism, a culture fostered by the government of the day is to blame for some of the problems we see today.

im using xt rd-m770 and kenda nevagal cross country Size: 26x1.95 & 26x2.1

nevegals eh, quite grippy they are and cheap too. but i think maybe too narrow in muddy conditions, if a wider tyre would float over the mud rather than sink into it. oh well, never mind. you live and learn.

my very flexible plastic pump which is already 5 years old can still get my slicks up to 110 psi. i am thinking of getting a replacement track pump that has a metal body like a Beto but have to wait la.
as to your question, how much psi? look at the markings on the tire sidewall lo, then adjust according to our comfort level.

Flatfinger:

this is exactly the kind narrow minded, "you dont agree with us so you can take a hike" attitude that seems to be winning these days.
one, if cannot even use the right words, how does one express oneself?
and if you cannot express yourself, how would you stand for being laughed at?
and if you are already told me to take a hike, i cannot imagine what you would if i laughed about it in your face.

two, i did not call it anything.
if you people cannot deal with comments like this, good luck with life where there will be loads more comments like this or worse. or good luck living in a cave.

three, save your pity for those people out there who cannot get a job precisely because their english is so poor.
only in this country will you find people who are proud to be ignorant, cannot master English, never mind we dump it!
malaysia boleh!

Peace be with you too. i get what you mean on the page. but that is not the point. others might not and that is the point.
again, save your pity for all those grads who cannot find a job because they lack english proficiency.
it all has to be better, our english needs to better, our riding needs to be better, our minds need to be better. how else are we going to compete with the world?
i find that funny that i cannot take other people's comments when it is other people telling me take a hike. have you actually read my reply to ober?
i have not been defensive but have engaged in a discussion with you guys. and up till now, is a lame "take a hike if you dont like it" defensive response.
as my malay friends would put it, so "sensitif ke?"
well, if that is the way then malaysia surely tak boleh.

In which dictionary define China as a race???
i tot China is a country while Chinese is a race??
*
dude,
did not condemn flatfinger, just said his english needed work that is all.
and dude, we are all brothers here on 2 wheels, how did it become ur kind and some other kind?
if i didnt want to help him, i would have just said he was crap and left it at that.
then someone came flying out saying i had "shamed" flatfinger.

as for china ppl, ober already clarified that so enough said.

flatfinger has a point though, no point arguing with them.
better take care ourselves than the others. take a chill pill! happy.gif

peace dude,
we are all bros on wheels, must take care of each other la. if not, no point la this forum. if say improve english abit also drama, imagine in the real world if you told somebody to take a different racing line down the hill? you would think downhillers have thicker skin than that?

dude,
i dont really know where gives a good deal to be honest but my lbs seems quite reasonable but his choice is limited lo and he has to order if you want the branded stuff. but i think he is would be cheaper than places like ksh or bikepro since it is just a 1 man show. walao! 2 thin strips of rubber will cost me a new tire for my avanza at those places!
how come we dont see anymore trail vids with your helmet cam?

1:1 actuation ratio, if not mistaken, is patented by SRAM...

and shimano had been using 2:1 all the while, if they suddenly change to 1:1, there'll be conflicts in parts...
*
i use shimano, so i dont know how it feels to shift sram, but.. some say it is more precise and quick but brutal compare to the more subtle shifting feel of shimano... some say la. they are also less likely to lose shift precision with dirt in the cable than shimano some say la. most people are with shimano by default because they tai kor ma, sram got their fanboys also like apple mac fans.
if shimano go to 1:1 like sram then they will have to pay the license fees.

sigh... if the guru cannot ajar in inggeris, suruh lah ajar subjek lain, sebab sains and matematik ini penting. atau pun jangan jadi guru, dulu when they switch from teaching in english to malay, the teachers got on with it, no protest or going crazy. sigh...

OT a bit, IMO, the gov is kinda stupid as they listen to the adults about whether to teach in English or Malay, instead, they should seek the opinions of those who are studying/going to study m&s about the language they prefer...

c'mon, honestly, the adults might think they should teach in malay, but i can easily tell you, most students want it to be taught in English(at least in my class) as its easier to understand and absorb plus i bet once you enter college, s&m will be in english anyway, so if they teach in malay during the secondary years, they are gonna suffer a lot once they enter coll...

back on topic....

XTR/Dura-ace still uses 2:1 ratio shifting while SRAM are using 2:1 on their lower end groupos and 1:1 on their higher end groupos(X7 and above)
*
staying off topic, my gen studied sains and maths in malay but found no problem in transitioning to english when we did a levels and uni. but then we did cakap english all the time.
Night: is it true, english class is now like once in a week?

I was watching a video on youtube comparing RD between Shimano and SRAM ..the RD move less when using SRAM as compared to Shimano...

I reckon my setup is good but 1:1 actuation isĀ  a sweetener indeed.

Im an opportunist...use the current situation to force LBS for lower margin...hahaha

Added on March 11, 2009, 6:59 pm

I havent tested SRAM but looking from the trend...most highend DH bikes comes with SRAM groupo installed.

a noob question...
what is 1:1 ratio and 2:1 ratio??
and off MTB topic:
i support teaching science and math in english... coz i survive engineering course in uni partly because i understand english well... all the books r in english.....a few lecturer are foreigner....and its sound kinda funny when they try to direct translate english engineering term into malay... seriously.... (im malay, by the way..heheheh smile.gif )

if u wanna study eng, med, and professional course..be prepare to learn english....
*
it means, u pull 1cm of cable the RD/fd will move 1cm, so more direct and fast shifting feel. that is sram.
shimano, u pull 2cm of cable the rd/fd will move 1 cm, so softer feel lo. so some say...
u can tell i have been watching too much of "the stig" intros on top gear that i got off the net.

malay or not, we all malaysian ma. cakap malay can, cakap english can, rojak also can.
i support paying more for teachers who are interested in and good at teaching english! and you must get the kids talking in english barulah they all get good in it and not act like deer in front of headlights! my gen, all chinese (that i am), malays, indians and lain lain bumiputra all spoke english all thru primary and secondary school (gov aided schools), i didnt hear anyone complaining about transitioning to english in A-level and uni. lucky i guess. to escape this place and see the world you got to speak english. peace!
