Wa....so many Dow2 haters suddenly
I guess a lot of the player base now will depend on CR. If its a letdown....bye bye DoW2 community.
And if SC2 comes out soon....I guess this thread will disappear from lowyat.net tongue.gif

Eldar New Units:

QUOTE

user posted image

New to the Eldar Army in Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising will be the powerful Wraithguard. Made of a complex and durable material known as Wraithbone and housing a spiritstone that contains the soul of an Eldar warrior, these technologically advanced squads pack a serious punch with their Wraithcannons.

Unit: Wraithguard. Slow moving short range heavy infantry. They move faster with a warlock nearby but get stunned if the warlock is killed.

Availability: Tier 2

Abilities:
Wriathbone – When activated, this ability increases the Wraithguard’s health regeneration but temporarily disables the unit.

Upgrades:
Warlock –Add a Warlock to lead the squad. Warlocks have Wraithsight which boosts the speed of nearby Wraithguard.

Wraithbone – Grants the Wraithbone ability, allowing Wraithguard to regenerate health. Requires Tier 3.

Although they look similar to the larger Wraithlord, the three member Wraithguard squad is best used at range against enemy infantry. They each carry a smaller, more portable, version of the D Cannon. Unlike the D Cannon though, Wraithguard require no set up time for their weapons before they fire. Enemy infantry squads melt away under fire from Wraithguards, whose durability increases with the Wraithbone upgrade. Although the ability temporarily disables the unit, the health regeneration will quickly heal the unit for its next engagement.

Poor sight hampers the unit’s movement speed, but a Warlock squad leader can be added to significantly increase the Wraithguard’s swiftness. Be watchful for this new weapon in the arsenal of the Eldar in Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising.

DOW2 is crap~ Where is the epic feel of the game? At least in DOW i get a 10`men squad of marines to play with. In this i get 4.......

There is no tactical adavantage besides buildings, Shallow gamplay, useless character upgardes....i can go on. Where is the WAR in Dawn of WAR!! This is a fcuking cammondos game. Regret buying the original for this. Ccan wait for christmas special to get Chaos rising.

Well. Relic did say that when they were producing this game that it will be a tactical game with no base buildings and will not be like dawn of war 1.
Besides...the beta was free before the game was released...

Well, for all those upcoming races...lets all hope this 1st expansion doesn't kick everyone in the balls again.

To those who regret getting this game as an original think about it this way..."Atleast you get the updates"

Huh, something never change around here, as evident by certain individual(s) who whines and complains more then action and/or anything else....

But yes, after massive gaming on 40k table top world DOW 2 is no war. What we have here is about equivalent of 750pts+- size force when converted to table top units. And what is with the now every race also play like eldar kind of approach? LOL

Where as standard 40k table top plays around 1750 pts.

And now, for your viewing pleasure.. a Dark Angel terminator Sergeant

What you think you can do about a game not being it's best? There is no action to do,as Relic dont listen most of the time.

I am still quite disappointed with DoW2 in terms of the multiplayer gameplay, which involves lots of run around capping than actual battles.

It's still a good game, especially with the Last Stand mode, but it could be way better.Just like DoW and CoH.

Lets all just hope they fix some of those multiplayer flaws in CR.

Yar the scale is pretty small but as someone who only play single player I don't really regret buying DoW2, the campain isnt bad, the story is alright and they actually respected the lore for once and made it a little bit more "story driven" than DoW1 in my opinion (I still enjoyed it too though). The small RPGs elements with the troops was alright too

Only thing is I wish they made the last stand playable solo (even with some AI controlling the others heroes) just for fun.

And god that terminator sergent is nice, they really improved the "dynamism" of the figurines since the last time I played the tabletop (proud owner of an old 3000+ points Space Marine army here). Is the posture of it "out of the box" or is it modified? Painting is pretty good too, Golden Demon's candidate?

Right now I am replaying the old Chaos Gate just for fun tongue.gif

@Cheese: I have almost no knowledge of the Multi as you know but I don't really see it easily possible for them to "fix" the multi's flaws you say (more capping chase than battles etc.) , that would means for me changing quite a lot the basic way the game is being played. It's a bit "big" of a change for me to see being done, not impossible, but I wouldnt hold my breath on it.

One thing I would really "hope" is for the next Warhammer 40K game (if any) is for Relic to go the other way from what they did from DoW1 to Dow2, instead of reducing the scale... increase it.
Warhammer Epic with Titans, whole platoons of tanks/super heavy tanks, whole companies of infantry and co could be absolutely mind-blowing. Think of something like the scale of Supreme Commander in Warhammer's universe.....
