this v10 is simply ridiculous, covers the ram .. what if we want to change the ram ? need to open the whole heatsink

and also the performance is worse than v8 .. and there are still heatsink out there which performs better than v8 ..

so you get what i mean ..

performance definately better than v8... please. once the TEC is activated they will perform neck to neck. if ur processor overclock higher and generate more heat. v10 surely will handle the heat a lot better than v8

This is the page which i talk about
beta test unit. with photos. with ram clearance and installed pic. read the thread. keep scroll down coz there is more pic below

i think hes tyring to say that why CM didnt just focus the V10 proc cooling since theres better the hsf than the previous (V8). also got result which shown V8 cooling better than this V10

he means that the V10 < V8 < other HSF

yeah, i just wonder how cool is the RAM and there's no way to check RAM temp sweat.gif
but for value RAM users, i think V10 is good and creative thumbup.gif

crucial balistic tracer user would benefit alot.. coz i know that ram gila hot. (under heavy OC condition)
my friend told me he touched it ones when the PC is running and he never dare to touch it again.

what i am sayinging v10>V8 = +- ultra120ex/other HSF
from what i know is thermalright HSF tend to benefit with higher air flow and also usually need to be manually lapped coz factory default surface is not flat and rough.

IMO v10 is a very good cooler. it cools CPU and RAM in 1 unit (just like CM gemini2) but with the TEC technology the higher the temperature ur proc goes the better the v10 perform compare to other HSF

Added on February 21, 2009, 11:34 amjust see the ram clearance photo again on the forum
(link i provided on previous post)
if u wanna remove the ram or install ram with normal height there shouldn't be any problem but you have to remove ur graphic card though.
corsair ram user with DHX heat spreader or any other brand ram with the heat spreader as tall as the corsair's DHX
BAD NEWS...
precisely 1mm+ clearance =.=
no choice but to remove the heatsink lol
those with mobo tray with hole for backplate mounting u are in luck coz u noneed to remove mobo to install the cooler.
as for those without back plate mounting hole on mobo tray...
too bad ><

i gotta agree with hahn
reviews said with TEC enabled, the V8 loses to V10
and also in terms of 2 in 1 cooler, V10 is a great one

With its design and looks, i think its creative but too heavy
careful not to hit ur comp too much or it'll tumble down ur mobo icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on February 21, 2009, 12:23 pmlooking at the review on the link provided by of our member..
QX9650 at 3.78ghz overclock 1.5v under load with TEC on is 85C.
DAMN
my freezer xtreme do my qx9650 88C under load at 4ghz overclock with just 1.42v and vdroop to 1.368v under stress..
that's a big difference......
i was already considering liquid cooling setup for my 4ghz overclock..
V10 just made me second guess things....

price / performance ratio for v8 is ?

price / performance ratio for CCF is ?

if you know the answer, then you will certainly get what i mean !

imo v10 is not worth the money spent

1 : TEC on it already consuming 70W of power. Its almost another extra E8600 running on top of ur current processor. FYI E8600 TDP is rated at 65W. Extra electric bill over the long run.

2: RM400~500 for an air cooler? why not spend another rm200 for a more efficient water cooler?

3: TEC works more efficiently on water cooler, for water has almost a thousand times heat capacity per volume than air. Google "peltier review" for more test results. Also note that the cooler gotta support the heat produced by both TEC and your proc. Eg, if u're using E8600 @ 65W, the v10 gotta dissipate heat of 65W (proc) + 70W (TEC) = 135W

4: WTF my deepcool iceblade pro only cost RM110 and dont lose much in terms on thermal efficiency, or perhaps even on par with v10 with 2 XLFs Review here.. Performance to cost ratio, V10 gotta perform at least 4 times more efficient than IBP for the price it ask.

5: V10 only boast ones e-peen. Nothing more.

I stand to be corrected.

Cheers
