of course 2.5 hilux is not as good on the tarmac as it was off-road. but you should try any
modded hilux 2.5 sr turbo.  brows.gif
else, the current 2.5 ford ranger with vgt turbo.
perhaps, we should create a new thread for 4wd enthusiast. i will put it up once the resources / research is done.  smile.gif

i tried hilux sr turbo before, drove KL-JB-KL. in terms of performance i think the 1 of the best pickup in its class. but the drawback is the handling is not as good as current hilux. sux a bit tongue.gif and the FC worse than current hilux also (juz FYI only, who cares bout the FC anyway.. hehe..)

pajero not so good la,easy rosak le...
hilux is an unkillable truck according to top gear,
and storm's cabin is too small

spare part also mahal.. but it's the company's money anyway, nobody cares whistling.gif

that one i tried was a modded sr turbo. somewhere in sabah. with bigger scroll and some other modification means for tarmac use(which is not a trend in sabah yet). lowered suspension and offset tyres. but still a bumpy ride. not suitable for highway.
the ride is a total disaster laugh.gif but i managed to hit 198km/h.

Buy a FORD! BUILT TOUGH! Still best selling pickup in the world.

unlike last time, where ford pioneer the double cab craze in peninsular with their courier,
they already become a rare sight on kl road lately...
losing out to triton and hilux.
perhaps, something wrong in their marketing / service? hmm.gif

went to the nissan showroom to see for a navara in bukit tinggi

salesman told me have to go to pj to see one, so lame.

anyway I would consider to buy navara if price drop below 100k.

now I'm holding back plan to buy any vehicle now

let the auto industry sales drop like mad, sure got discount later

ford should change the look of the vehicle. they still remain the conventional look of pickup truck. that's why most of the ppl go for other brands. but if i have the money, i will buy either ranger or navara.

There are vector units and turbo booster for it (3.2) to come close_to/beat Navara's power... You may get the 2.5 to the 3.2's default power... to get the 2.5 Triton to Navara's would be difficult/damaging to the engine/gear system. Any of these sort of mod voids the warranty...

Tritons are know to suffer gearing problems/failing/inferior... and Frontier/Navara (s) have engine blowing up incidences in UK...

The Hilux and D-max are tough and durable (and frugal for D-Max)... but are not powerful

At default... 3.2L's the torque still lack behind the 2.5 Navara, by a huge margine, Mother Trucker, one for the top Dog in 2.5L Diesel engine .... Give and take... each has its own points... Road tax does not really matter for Sabahans..

owh. but isnt it 3.2L engine r easier to mod to get higher power? like make it to the max tune just like the navara? or is it really bad to mod a truck? yeap road tax doesnt matter thumbup.gif

nah, i've tested all sometimes ago. the navara does feel more powerful than the 3.2 triton but, in triton,
the engine linear is smoother compared to the navara. perhaps, the 'urge' in navara will suit your
taste for powerful diesel car thumbup.gif
i see no point in buying a 2.5 triton and jack it up. it won't be able to get near the navara in term of power.
spending extra on engine reworks + bigger turbine will only increased the cost and possibly void the warranty.
btw, there are s limitation on 4 cylinder turbo engine. no matter how you crank up / modded it, you will eventually reach a limit where the engine can't take the 'punishment' anymore. and the internal part might just give away tongue.gif

since i used to travel frequently to sabah, imo, driving a manual car is more fun.
the hilly terrain/road punish the auto gear box more, so, the service interval for auto gearbox is a lot more earlier
than the manufacturer recommended interval. perhaps, installing an ATF cooler will help.
if you can wait, there is only one truck that matter most and it was the navara 6 speed manual which is currently
only available in Thailand but i doubt ETC will bring 'em anytime soon.. sweat.gif
the monster hilux in UK will not be able to breath in our current diesel quality.

go for a test drive and feel for yourself. nothing beat the feeling of getting a hands on experience. icon_rolleyes.gif

yo bro! thx for the long information thumbup.gif owh. even the navara few hp different alrdy powerful than the 3.2 triton? cool blink.gif but i heard that navara back seats r worst right? lol. how about mod a 3.2 triton? i saw somewhere in youtube some guy mod it to like 26xHP? ohmy.gif

lol.. right. but when it cme to traffic jam it will be less fun sweat.gif too bad the 3.2 triton doesnt have the manual version cry.gif well i still can wait if i really want the navara 6-speed. the thing in my mind is that i think a 3.2 triton should can max tune it to defeat the navara. guess i need to do more research lol. confuse shakehead.gif
