Aresz,
It’s a (very) long shot in your case.
Rather than wasting away your effort and time, why not enroll straight into TAME program?
Hint: There's one coming up in January from the low cost career..

QUOTE(Aresz.com @ Sep 17 2009, 10:54 AM)
Hi guys,

Need your kind advices here.

The TJT advertisement recently caught my attention on joining the maintenance crew.  I have diploma in electronic and now work as a process engineer in a semiconductor factory..salary, basic rm1400. OT will get around 2.5k a month. work, 12 hours per day with 2 rest days a week.

Is it worthy to give a shot on TJT?
do one day I will become part of LAE's or not after joining TJT?
Am I in correct path? or should I wait the TAME program?
I think by that time I already 30++ smile.gif

Thanks in advance.

Its a general requirement that if you have worked for (at least) 5 years and/or in supervisory capacity, you can do your masters. There may be an entrance exam depending on that particular learning institution policy.
An LWTR with a type rating is considered a degree with honours, NOT LWTR alone.

QUOTE(kyser39099 @ Sep 29 2009, 12:50 AM)
hye guys.. i might have overlooked thru the topic's posts but cant seem to find what im looking for..

currently im holding an LWTR category C license and i've heard few years back, theres people telling that i can further my studies straight to the Master level as this lwtr is equivalent to Degree... at least thats what i heard..

what makes me wonder is, which University?

if anyone can confirm this i would really appreciate it.. tq

APR is the second approved training organisation after MIAT.
It's NOT conversion, rather the ADOPTION (with some modifications, of course) of EASA-66 syllabus can be as early as 2010. Bear in mind, it is still DCA's AMEL, NOT EASA license.

QUOTE(senizwan @ Oct 3 2009, 01:11 PM)
....

APR already had an approval from DCA as a training school; I estimate that DCA will be fully convert to EASA in 2011 (just my opinion)  smile.gif

Again, nice to know all of you. Quote me if im wrong.

Selected is one thing, are you accepting the offer?

In the good old days, the 'standard' equipment that an LAE would carry would be a MAGLITE and Leatherman...

It is clear that you have not read and understand the BCAR's Section L requirements.. Do yourself a favour and read it.

QUOTE(Lempoyang @ Feb 19 2010, 02:46 PM)
excuse me everyone, i have something to ask about getting the helicopter LWTR, these some questions that confusing my mind :

1. the A&C rotorcraft LWTR exam, does it mean i have to take the airframe and engine exam at the same time/in same paper?
2. in 'C' rotorcraft (engine) exam, what type of turbine engine should i cover, since helicopter usually use turboshaft, should i cover turboprop, turbofan etc also?
3. can i take 'A' and 'C' category separately? example; first take the 'A', then after a year take the 'C'

4. btw, can i submit the work schedule and all the document to DCA before my ages 21? and can i sit for the LWTR exam in my age 20?

After graduating, you need the 2 years work schedule in order to be issued with the LWTR.

QUOTE(LOREAL @ Mar 3 2010, 07:34 PM)
Thanks.... I have another question ... icon_question.gif

If i were to study in Nilai, upon graduation i would be getting LWTR and i would need roughly around 2 years to get the rating or i need that 2 years to get LWTR... !!
It's making me confused right now  rclxub.gif

Correction.
After graduation, you need to collect work schedules for two years working on live aircraft in a Part 145 maintenance organisation, submit to the applicable EASA Authority, only upon acceptance of the work schedules you will be issued the license.

Why don't you ask that Politeknik? Surely someone there should be able to help you out?

'Better' is too vague.. better in what sense? doh.gif

MIAT is an approved school if you're taking LWTR as per BCAR Section L. They also have EASA programme.
The other approved school by the DCA Malaysia is APR and METC.

NILAI is also conducting EASA programme. See previous postings on these.

For crying out loud, its aircraft MAINTENANCE. Mathematics and Physics theories don't keep the aircraft flying! laugh.gif

QUOTE(whyme99 @ Mar 13 2010, 10:49 PM)
honestly speaking, is it true that this aircraft maintenance course is more to physical work than brain intelligence? what i see here is that, they focus more on repairing and physical work rather than lots of mathematics and physics theories. is that true? and for those who are replying in this thread, please let me know if you, yourself, are a aircraft maintenace engineer. i wanna know what you speak of is of real facts or just mere rumours.

Added on March 13, 2010, 10:53 pmgito926, are you a A.M engineer yourself?
