Anyhow, turning off agps from the phone setting --> some packet data is STILL downloaded by GarXT (checking log)... Any cause to worry?

Also, anybody find out how to cache GoogeMaps so that we DON'T have to download data every time we use it?

*sigh* It's refreshing to just ask questions again without having to update stuff (with my unstable/unpredictable online times nowadays)...

Turning OFF AGPS in the settings DOES REDUCE the packet data downloaded, that I could see (from around 50-100KB per connect --> 20-50KB per connect... Will have to check again to confirm)... It just DOESNT STOP it completely...

No GPS coverage (is this EVEN possible?)?... I'm currently in Sungai Petani and it works fine sans AGPS (according to the settings) with 3-4 bars at least even in the fringes of the town, while being inside my 2 story rented house - no matter the weather (haven't been in a full blown thunderstorm yet lar)...

Tall buildings tend to block GPS it seems, maybe that's the case? I get crap GPS reception in the middle of KL (around KLCC)...

IMHO, AGPS only speeds up GPS lock, not improve the signal (although I'm not really sure, havta ask the GPS experts here)...

I estimate around 10kb-200kb per session, I've connected a couple of times myself (say, 5-15 times) and my packet data download rate is around 500kb, upload around 90KB (GPRS only as I've turned 3G off already)... Again, estimation as I'm no expert, and I might have done some other downloading through GPRS by accident...

IMHO, that's not 'weird technique', it's just smart design... People WILL put their phones on the table anyway, at one point or another... Why not take advantage of that? Louder sound minus the power consumption of physically louder speakers...

One of the advantages of the SE W550i had vs the W810i is that the W550i was designed with this "table echo" in mind (not to mention it's external speakers were just darned loud to begin with)...

And the fact that both speakers are on the right side - genius, if you take into account that you will be putting the 5800 on its side every time you watch movies, first really useful stereo speakers I've ever had on a handset... Great design touches BTW, if only they can improve a bit on the QC...

Where did you get that and for how much... Does it effect movie viewing angle and how is it in bright sunlight? Cause i wouldn't want it blinding me in sunlight...

As for dictionaries, I'm using MSDict (Eng - Jap installed)... Works like a charm, except for the fact that I can't put any sort of Japanese characters into the dict at all...

Maybe I could with SlovEd, no idea...

There's a whole bunch of dicts available for MSDict (Collins Eng, Eng-Ger, Eng-It, Eng-whatever you choose lar), only problem would be input lar for the languages we do not have the IME for (Euro languages, Jap for instance)...

Anybody here using Mobisure Plus+ insurance for any their mobiles? Or know anyone using it?

I've been asking around and it's quoted for around RM24.50 per month for our Tubies... Theft, damage full replacement + 60 day international coverage...

That + GPS tracking... Great proctection, wouldn't you think? Although a bit overkill for anything less then a Touch HD / N97 / X1 class device, I really don't have the resources to get another Tubey even if it gets stolen...

As for GPS tracking, thinking of buying, maybe even bulking and selling a certain S60 safety program... As even the Jackie Sparrows haven't cracked the latest version of it, and it works well enough to warrant a purchase!

Although S60 veterans should be mighty familiar with it anyhow...

Isn't the W980i the flippy SE? Ur comparing apples to oranges here bro, smartphone vs stylephone... But i dare say sq from both are comparable, the 5800 wins speakerwise imho (it retains more detail), and in terms of inbox headphone sq, the hpm-77 that comes with th W980i wins easy... With better cans, the 5800 sounds a tad richer imho... And tcmean bro, thanks in advance for the scans...

Been thinking of pairing it up with the mirror protector...Have more confidence in them cheap crystal casings - from experiance i found them to be extremely effective in negating drop damage...

Innov8 was great, but this Acme is just...

It's a problem, my dad's 5800 has it too... Everything becomes grey, right? I think it's an LCD problem... Go NCC ASAP and fry them...

Thankfully I'm clear...

They're selling something similar (and much more cheapo) at RM20-25 in LYP...
