game saves and game data are two different things

game data = installed files + updates + DLC

game data are shared among users, game saves are separated between users

ok. any recent anecdotes that can confirm it? many would appreciate if we can confirm that it doesnt apply to PS3 but only for other appliances. notworthy.gif

coz some ppl claimed that they have asked from sony centre/salesperson that they told them the lens problem is not covered by warranty, but in reality it is covered.

dvi port doesnt mean that it supports hdcp internally. earlier displays with dvi port doesnt support hdcp although now we can assume that all models with dvi port will automatically support hdcp. do check the specs/datasheet to confirm though.

if you use a static ip which is in the dhcp pool, conflicts can happen because that ip might have been assigned to another device by the dhcp server. follow shahreza's advice.

it could be better if your router have static dhcp (or dhcp reservation) according to the MAC address. saves the hassle of setting ip statically

notebooks display port can only output signals, not for receiving external inputs.

so no you cant do it out-of-the-box, unless if you use another additional device (tv card / capture card) connected to usb port or expresscard/pcmcia/whatever port

normally tv tuners come with a port for external input (yellow RCA or s-video), but some may not have it. check the datasheet/manual before buying. lags/delays might happen because it needs the computer's processing power process the signal and display them on the screen. also note that the highest resolution for 95% capture card is only standard definition (480i/576i)

it is better if you just get a proper monitor/display for gaming imo

in ps3 internal hdd

the only thing can you do is view its accumulated size (for each game) and delete it (if you believe that they are corrupted or something).

it is under game -> game data

for some games, installed file from bd + updates + dlc = game data

other games separate dlc from the game data and it will show as two separate items under game -> game data section

based on this http://www.gamespot.com/features/6176090/index.html
it shows how to replace a ps3 hd to a bigger one,

but how do i back up my paid games like wipeout and SF2hdrmx and even my save games?

im sure you guys have gone through this before,
thanks.
*
the back up utility automatically backs up all your contents (music, photo, video, saves, game updates, games, dlc, etc)

you can redownload paid contents from psn store if you dont want to back them up though

Looks like something got shorted.
The HDMI controller is connected to the audio chip in the PS3, either one could be at fault.

I think you should just take it to Sony with a receipt and the entire box to show that it is still under warranty, even if you did not registered.
Not sure if they would look at it or not, but I think they should with a little bit negotiating.

she did bring her ps3 to my place to update games and download a few contents from the net. she noticed the problem after she went back to her place. maybe due to vibration or shock in the car or something sad.gif

i found this:

Added on July 26, 2009, 2:45 pmok successfully registered (used the received as gift option), and put the purchase date correctly.

you can skip the invoice number if you chose 'received as gift' from the menu.
