No, it's still not out. Just that Codemaster mistakenly announced it. They fixed it, but now everyone knows

And why is that? Compared to the Momo, the G25 was quite small for me and fit perfectly on my desk.

LAguna Seca IS the track to race at the USA. It's the only old school track that I loved in the country due to it's hilly nature. Gran Turismo circuits? That circuit is a real life one used in many racing series, thus why not? The fact that you EXPECT some crashes means that you need to change the way you drive.

QUOTE(M1X @ Aug 21 2009, 02:40 PM) Well yeah. Those tracks already become "classic" or something like that, high quality tracks. But well, sometime when we play games we just try to push push and push, push it hard, or try something 'dangerous'. Why race if we're not pushing to the limits? But well, sometime we really push too hard... LOL! That's why I crash. Sim Racing is never about pushing, it's about pacing yourself, and slamming those consistent lap times. You are confusing that with Arcade Racing. In sim racing, the more you push, the more likely you will go slower as you will miss your braking point, lock up, have to correct your steering more, etc. Rushing is not an option. You need to analyse wether or not you CAN make the pass, isntead of just passing straight away just for the sake of it. I can't choose not to push, cuz those AI are pushing me... Well talk about AI... I hope NFS can have better AI... I didn't quite find that NFS AI are that challenging than other games... Btw, do you think a laptop like Asus M50Vn can play NFS:SHIFT... ? Or some Asus K series that have Mobile GT1xx GPU... Try reading this interview by the Malaysian Sim Racers. In other news, PC version will have multiple monitor capability |

Well I am going to tell this straight. IF you like cars that behaves like a real car would, which means lack of grip, less top speed, easy to have snap oversteer etc, then you will like this game. If not try other arcade games :3
Most of the cars here WON'T exceed 280~290, as in real life. Yes, they HAVE the top speed to do it, but rarely a race car exceeds that as they are setup for the best speed throughout the lap, and not straight line alone. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 22 2009, 10:04 PM) Shift probably wont be a 100% hardcore sim game,as it will have some options to alter the physics a bit for players who want the game to be easier to play. I'll be happy if it's around GRID's difficulty. If it's required to use a wheel to play this game,i'll give it a pass then. QUOTE Will the difficulty setting be as accurate as other sim games? :3IB: SHIFT is built on the most advanced physics engine we've made, and is by far the most advanced and realistic physics engine of any of the mainstream racing games. We're talking about an engine that can run unlimited threads, detailed physics parameters running at around 400 Hz on consoles. Things like tire deformation based on g-forces, tire pressures, rubber thickness, which only the most diehard sim fans will notice, but we know it's there. We have a full realism hardcore mode called Pro that you can choose to race in from the start that will feel natural and comfortable as well as raising the bar for handling compared to anything out there (or due out soon) for all of our hardcore race sim fans. This can be combined with one of three AI difficulty levels, and on the Hard setting, the AI will fight extremely hard and give no quarter - even the most talented racers out there will find a great challenge here. The AI will block your pass attempts, take places back, make mistakes and end up overcooking corners, and will hold a grudge against you if you are too aggressive towards them. You'll really get to know these drivers and rivals over the course of the game, and they'll get to know you and your unique Driver Profile. QUOTE(redbull_y2k @ Aug 22 2009, 10:49 PM) Yup, the game had to cater to a wide audience, not just the hardcore sim racing fans. So i'm sure there's a difficulty setting to cater for a different type of players. according to Ian Bell SHIFT is targeted to Sim racers, thus why there are 3 titles this year. World Tour will be arcade thoThis post has been edited by linkinstreet: Aug 22 2009, 10:52 PM |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 22 2009, 11:24 PM) Ian Bell is not from EA. He's from Blimey! Games. And since Blimey! modified the gMotor2 for usage of GTR, GTR Legends, GTR2 and RACE06, I have no doubt on what they can do. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 23 2009, 08:31 AM) You'll be amazed on what they cant do in the end. Indeed. And also Fat Cat Lim (GameAxis editor) has tested the beta version of this game (lucky cat!) and he said he was impressed with it.Still, since they outsource the whole game,it should be much better than before. Some of the MW people are also working on this. |
