QUOTE(byaku-chan @ Mar 19 2009, 11:42 PM)
Well they're going for a realism-style face (i.e. how Yoko would look if she was a real person). The original kit was also realism style, but with an Asian face! laugh.gif Guess it'd make more sense to give her a Caucasian face, since her surname is Littner. I like both faces though ^^
The original kit is realistic enough (not specifically Asian or Caucasian), the eyes was appropriately sized to the face... with the new version they are going for Anime size eyes (No realistic human Caucasian have eyes these big), they just have the face a bit longer than what was in the Animation.
Though in the pic below the painter did over paint the size of the pupil/iris of the eyes (of the original). To look more Caucasian.. deeper eye sockets, more prominent cheek bones, a more pointy nose...

I would say they just remove the sculpted eyes and eye lids of the original and paste decal anime-like eyes in its place

why u want a realistic face for anime characters? its not... erm.. moe...

and that Yoko looks very manly
Different people, different taste... some value realism/beautifully/proportional sculpts than animation accuracy/representation

I have a few leaning/broken peg figures with inserted metal internal support... prefer aluminum light and strong and easy to shape with tools... There is always epoxy filler that hardens to stone/cement/concrete like.

its Amiami shop,  they always sell cheap
mostly like 20% for new ones
20% (or a bit less) is the standard retail off price in most brick/mortar retail stores in Japan (like Yodobashi/Biccamera). Transformers/Bandai's Gunpla get about 37% off... Amiami charges 500 yen per shipping (worth it if you order a lot), while Amazon give you free shipping (>1500 yen), though their % in discount varies more than Amiami.

HobbySearch is about abit less than 15%... 5% off Jap. consumer tax, 5% savings, 5% store/loyalty points.

Since when did EMS shipping became so cheap ?  hmm.gif

Shipping costs are a major headache to me.  rclxub.gif
Quote from their site.. estimate shipping ... Silicone itself is a shock absorber, probably only minimal addition packaging material needed..

Only 1.2k yen to Oz.... 900 yen to Mal or Hong Kong

The amount printed on HLJ's box is the price of items only....does not include the shipping cost. So if his items is below Rm500 should be safe.
Every EMS box should have a sticker with the postage cost and weight slapped to it (it includes items cost too, with HLJ). Postman will total them together to tax you..

Do you mean SAL shipping has no shipping price on the box?... B.T.W. sal shipping will be only 1380 yen (not 1680 yen) ... bringing it to slightly below RM500

Don't think so wor. Cause if they did this to you then you might have been conned. The rules only state for items above RM500.....which DOES NOT include shipping. If they count your shipping you have a right to question them.

And AFAIK (as far as HLJ's sticker is concerned) there's no shipping value pasted on it. But on the EMS sticker itself i dunno la. I dun usually post EMS so i forgot what info the sticker shows.
Eh who's that? Looks like character from that gstring animu, something of brilliant blue?
The rules states (Custom Duties Exemption Order 1988, Perkara: 172, and Sales Tax (Exemption ) Order 1980 , Pekara: 109) not exceed RM 500 in CIF value... CIF.. Cost, Insurance and Freight.. Even if the item is free and the shipping cost you RM500.01, you will be taxed.

Yes EMS sticker stated the shipping price and weight.

Haha toys are indeed cheaper there.. but almost everything else is much more expensive, even if we considered 100yen=rm1. For example rent there 30,000 yen per month usually u get a very small room, maybe 3/4 or even half of what u can get with RM 300 rent here, not to mention that rate is for area quite far from city. And u cant get fulfilling food for less than 500 yen, as oppose to what you can eat here at RM 5. Bus here RM 2 unlimited per day, bus there 200yen for one way trip. Clothes there also are much more expensive than toys.
Haha and dun forget la.. toys are the things we buy once in a while, but things like food, transportation are what we paid for all the time
I can get by about 400 yen per day for breakfast, lunch, dinner (cook yourself)... Get a bicycle from less cost than 1 PVC figure... and cycle for exercise, can get through most cities (not tokyo) in Japan (takes me about 1 hour to get from one end of the city to the other), bus saves probably 20 to 30% time.... bus are very slow in Japan cities with many frequent stops. Fastest is by train/subway.. saves 60% time. Clothes are cheap in Japan, most are made in China anyways, ready made suits, woman and man's casual work wear have frequent discounts up to 70%, Jusco/Daiei Japan has better prices/selection than Malaysia. 100 yen shop sell cloths too (and most housewhole goods/hardware).... quite durable too for about 3 ringgit.

What you cannot escape is rent... electric, water and gas and other utilities.... You can however escape/minimise the Municiple charges. ... Stay long term, you need the expensive compulsory health insurance too (but if you only stay a few years for say studies, confident of your health/accidents, you can escape paying too... though it is illegal)
