QUOTE(zc_squash @ Feb 22 2009, 01:16 AM) I got pretty bored with cases already (and since there aren't many available already for the 1st gen), i got my iPhone 'skinned' today. Sure this is not a case, but i thought i just wanna share with you guys » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « [attachmentid=814101] @zc_squash I got bought an iPhone 3G but don't like the casings as they add bulk. Where did you skin yours and is it both sides? How much did you pay and result? I may resort to that as well but I want clear film for the whole phone. I like the Bodyguardz but don't think I am proficient enough to install it. Do you (or anyone out there) happen to know where I can buy with installation as well? Please advise. TQ.

I am not very sure as I wasn't looking for casings when I went browsing at the Machines, Sunway Pyramid but I thought I saw the Griffin iClear there. Perhaps you could go and check it out. Like I said, I am not sure but when you have the time go for a look see.

QUOTE(teikwing @ Mar 16 2009, 10:34 PM) just removed my front part IS since some particles & dirt managed to stick to it when i was applying it. using an anti-glare/fingerprint one now & i'm so so so so so so happy & satisfied with it! less fingerprints, smudges & scratches! no more wipes needed as often as my old clear & IS SP! got it way below market price (less than RM15) and i think it's almost similar to Power Support's Anti-Glare SP which costs around RM60. definitely recommended to all iPhone 3G users. PS: would bring it in bulk order if anyone is interested. You can count me in. But in the event that there is no 'quorum', where could I buy a couple even now since it is <RM15? TQ.

QUOTE(teikwing @ Mar 16 2009, 11:16 PM) i've just ordered a few (6 in total). item should arrive in 2 weeks time. will update once i've got it. PS: price will be RM15 each. earn few bucks. haha. kinda off-topic. Sure, no prob, mate but can I just ask whether the opening for the Home button is a complete circle or with a section at the bottom part cut out? If it is the former, let me know once the 'stock' arrives. Thanks.

QUOTE(underGr0und_8 @ Apr 15 2009, 10:53 PM) hi guys, do you think those skinning with total transparent is good ? pass by mines and ask one of the shop, it cost rm 60 for whole body skinning but i would prefer a mirror effect at the front, any comment ? For normal mobile phones, it is alright to skin the entire unit. But for touch screen phones, generally speaking they will just 'skin' the back and for the screen, a screen protector is applied and in your case you can opt for the mirror effect one.

QUOTE(underGr0und_8 @ Apr 16 2009, 12:14 AM) ic, then i also got ask whether bubble or got any effect if peel off la, she say wont price is rm 60 *havent apply, scare got side effect on the chrome part It won't affect any part of the phone but of course you can't compare this with the likes of IS, BG or SGP Shield. Perhaps you can give it a try. It is cheaper at the Digital Mall, Section 14. To 'skin' the back cost just RM20. But keep an eye on the girl who does it there as she can be erratic in her workmanship. Tell her exactly what you want her to do.

QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ Apr 21 2009, 01:37 PM) my iphone now naked which i have removed my IS and my rebel artic (since my rebel wont do the job no more) so im switching back to my ol trusty golla pouch hope i can carefully use the phone without scratching it.... Bro G, like that very 'dangerous'. Why don't you go and 'skin' it with a transparent film? At least it can help prevent scratches and it is cheap....costs only RM20 for the back. I did mine at Digital Mall, Section 14 but alas it is not perfect but ok lah.

QUOTE(cpyew @ Apr 21 2009, 03:06 PM) hey PeeEl take ur iphone pic and show how good is the skin. coz i think of doing it too. thanks No can do, cpyew. Sold the phone already, sorry. But IMHO for RM20, it's worth giving it a try but note that a blade will be deployed to trim off at the edges so there is a slight risk involved. If really interested, check it out at the place I mentioned but harp on the 'carefulness' with the girl doing it there.

PeeEl: skinning the back for 20 bucks is cheap. asked at some shop in The Mines skinning the back + chrome bezel is RM65. [/quote] For smart buys, one has to scout around. Having said that, at my recommended place, not the complete chrome bezel is covered.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 23 2009, 03:40 PM) Any of you guys use your phone with no case at all? As in other than a screen protector, the rest of the iphone body totally nude? I've been using switcheasy capsule neo for a while, but on a whim I decided to take it off today & wow suddenly the phone feels so sleek, slim and sexy ... so now I'm tempted to just use it nude ... But totally without any protection will subject your phone to scratches. IS, BG and SGP Shield are hard to apply. So, perhaps for a cheap peace of mind, do what I suggested. I forgot to mention something earlier and it is that the transparent film makes the phone less slippery to hold.

QUOTE(tALEz @ Apr 27 2009, 06:32 PM) Guys I'm thinking of having BodyGuardsz + Capsule Neo for my i3G. Any ideas whether that's a good combination? Or overkill. Any may I ask whether Capsule Neo will make it kinda bulky? Well, you won't be alone. Any casing will make the iPhone bulky. It is more whether you can accept it.

Are those actual pictures? Cause you're showing pictures of a bareback iPhone 3G rather one with SGP. Am I missing something? SGP Shield is a transparent 'film' like Bodyguardz and Invisible Shield. I think you were thinking about SGP Case. Btw, SGP Shield is thinner than the other 2 products mentioned above.

QUOTE(Doppelgriff @ May 7 2009, 06:49 PM) I was using a Capsule switcheasy for a year on my 2G phone. got it from the US.. it works fine.. no effect on WiFi. only problem is these cases seems to cause the front aluminium color to come off.. so now I changed to just a sleeve pouch that protects the screen along with the phone instead. Hi, I am contemplating on getting a Switcheasy CapsuleNeo but after reading your post, I am a little concerned. Could you elaborate please how do the casings cause the chrome bezel to 'peel', if that's what you mean? TQ.

QUOTE(air @ May 12 2009, 02:03 PM) Other than GS and online purchase, can anyone point out for me, is there any stores that sells IS, BG, and SGP? I looked through the first page, it only state the availability for IP 3G case. Added on May 12, 2009, 2:10 pmFor 16GB white, IP case better or IS/BG/SGP better? Like our Mod always says, to get what you need to know, please spend some time reading the posts. The answers to your questions asked and more can be found in this thread. Reading the first page can hardly get you anywhere. Cheers.

@jingyong To answer your initial question and this are strictly my personal views, the best of the shields is SGP, next comes BG and though IS provides relatively better protection, simply becasue it is the thickest of the three, it becomes unsightly as it attracts dirt and lint very easily.
To me, after applying a shield and keeping your phone in a case is not over-protective. This is just, to each his own. Applying this same maxim, the choice of casing is strictly based on your preference and liking as they all will provide protection.
So, go ahead and you can dash around in your hospital without too much of a care. But don't bump into the nurses. Cheers.

QUOTE(HellJoker @ Jun 11 2009, 10:05 AM) juz got a new iphone 3g, but i screw up 3 screen protector by applying them my self, wanna ask u guys got any place selling good screen protector + applying for u? prefer in KL area...=) thx... iPhone is no longer a limited commodity. Therefore, you can go to any of the phone shops and its SP is easily available. You will find plenty in places like Low Yat, Digital Mall at Section 14, PJ and even Sungai Wang, I believe.
