just wondering...

is it possible to get the white version, and choose the colors i want for the back covers?

it'd good if i can get the white n79, and the for covers white, red, green.

any1 has any ideas?

Some seller willing to do the the switching...when I was checking out the phone 2 months ago...some reseller willing to swap... even it was ori brows.gif you need to sweet talk to them... biggrin.gif

Hmmm..... finally manage to convince myself in getting N79! rclxm9.gif

Added on March 20, 2009, 12:27 amBelow are my details....

[VeeJay] [Mac 2009] [AP] [1160] [Garmin XT]

Its been close to 2 weeks now...i think hmm.gif

So far its been really fun and exciting....no complain... Garmin works wonderfully.

The only thing about the phone is the camera...but hey its phone camera so cant really complaint too much about the resolution!

Anyhow just a note for new buyers...the camera is good during day time and you don't use the zoom function...the clarity is just superb. But definitely not a night camera especially anything more than 3ft.

Other than that...so far its cool...didnt notice any bug yet...yeah keeping my fingers crossed! icon_rolleyes.gif

Shah_boy....are you referring to the clarity (pixel) or the glare?

If its the clarity..that is a norm for camera phone, and on N79, as I mentioned on my post earlier...the light capture on the lens is not is not enough to produce a good, night shots...

Day shots are very good but not at low lite area especially if its more than 3 feet!

Hey, its a camera phone, so shouldnt really espect much of it..probably in a year or two...I believe we could see more improvements.

If you have the patience blink.gif try playing around with user define mode and set to your liking for contract, light and white balance...that would produce a little better pictures...

So now I am looking at N79. May I know, besides warranty, AP set N79 is comparable to Ori set?
*
AP set might come with COR (country of origin) specific manual and keypad symbols...

Those who are interested in turning on the camera flash light as a touchlight, may do so...with SpotOn, I think N85 could also use it...

On my N79, the application only manage to turn the red-light on not the flash light :-(

No harm in trying...

hi guys, anyone know how to:

1. disable camera shutter sound
2. disable red light when video recording
3. use the dual LED as a torch light
4. have your picture gallery organised (the nokia in built gallery quite messy, i have 700+ pictures from my old phone, so browsing is quite a pain. much easier to see in folders, but the file manager doesn't show thumbnails, kinda looking for something like resco viewer/older s60 gallery interface)

thanks!
*
1) you have bare for now...cant do much
2) again...bare with...its said to be there due to privacy policy
3) should be coming out soon rclxms.gif but for now, the only know thing I know off is SpotOn but but doesnt fully work on FP2 but its a cool feature. ALso watch out for Ntorch release.
4) save to your PC...solves the mess! tongue.gif Just google there are many photo organizers. The current way of Nokia...is fine by me. Having it on folders with date stamp. You could change that setting as well

er tat msg lag issue is common in n79. ntg to worry about.. sometimes the hp is not tat fast to gv u response.. it happen especially u try to tilt ur hp and the screen started to rotate... try to turn of accelerometer then lag issue can be reduce.
er routing then lag will happen if u open too many background application.. try update to the latest map or use the lite version.. as u know, garmin map is very big size, approx 30-50MB compare to nokia map which only 12MB. so the phone might need some time to draw the map and latency might happen.. try to use high speed memory card.. perhaps might help in navigation.. mine is original nokia 4gb.. what bout urs?
*
Good advise coldfission!

Probably, you wanna restart your phone before using Garmin. It works for my friend. Mine is fine, not sure my friend's phone has the lag. I'm suspecting it the memory card speed.

Both of us use 8Gb.

i googled and found the answer at another forum which says that 16gb will work on the n79, because i quote "Nokia always insist on saying 8gb max" smile.gif
*
DOnt worry, N79 would work with 32Gb! rclxms.gif And ensure to get class 6 or bare minimum class 4.

By the way, what's the most useful app to be installed?
Garmin and quickoffice is a must for me. What's the best chat app (yahoo, msn, gtalk)?
Any recommended must have app?

btw what u guys think of this phones camera?
better than n82?

When I tested, bot was about the same. But I liked N79 features comapred to N82.

But during the night, N82 is much better since it has xenon flash... cry.gif
