QUOTE(ub3rg33k @ Jan 31 2011, 09:48 AM) Sound proofing, but not exactly economical depending on material. Whole car I think need to spend 1K min and more than 2K if done extensively. going to change my PP2 to Hankook V8RS which is more comfort and silent... acording to the forumer feedback... not sure how true is it.. but the price for it quite fit my budget.. which is RM300/pcs... But one thing you cannot soundproof is the front and back windscreens lah, so no matter what there will be sound from there especially if raining. Another is to change tyres, but the effect is depending on what tyre models. My recent change from PP2 to PS3 makes a big big difference in terms of noise level. PP2 is really noisy lah. Most economical way is to.... turn your music volume really really loud. Guarantee cannot hear other noise not afford to get PS3 although it is in my top wishlist... plan to go some minor soundproof in future.... maybe for the obvious tyre part..... |

QUOTE(ub3rg33k @ Feb 19 2011, 07:25 PM) If you're driving FD2 using stock PP2, this one is a proven method. PP2 memang famous for being noisy though it's a tyre that performs well. any idea on how much this will cost... Not sure if you change the ARB to aftermarket ones like Ultra Racing, but I find that it increases noise by quite a lot when going through uneven roads due to rigidity. Best bang for buck in reducing external noise is to sound proof wheel arch and four doors. Very expensive if wanna do more extensive ones. btw, i just change my PP2 to hankook V8rs for 215/45/17 Added on February 19, 2011, 8:57 pm QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 19 2011, 03:36 PM) sorry, it only improve the Vibration and harshness of fdAdded on February 19, 2011, 8:57 pm QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 19 2011, 03:36 PM) sorry, my mistake, but it do improve the Vibration and harshness of fd. right. ?Added on February 19, 2011, 9:08 pmhi all fd user here, did anyone here encounter the issue whereby when u release the steering wheel freely, it will tends to go left automatically in straight road... kindly advice is this normal for fd1? I just did the balancing and alignment only.... does it related to steering rack ? coz i just changed it 1 month ago... and if not mistaken, before that, it wont like that... QUOTE(zenix @ Feb 20 2011, 12:53 AM) bumpy = means you feel road bumps when you going fast? yaya... the noisy mainly is the tyre sound... noisy = wind/road noise or creaking noise cabin noise? The bumpy ride is all the time feeling the car like vibrating especially on the base side. kinda disappointing with FD NVH... Added on February 20, 2011, 8:58 am QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 19 2011, 10:11 PM) You need soundproof mad for all the door, floor, roof, front and bonet. But don't get high hope you car will silent till no noise. Added on February 19, 2011, 10:21 pm Soundproof need more than thousand to do. If you on budget, got solution. Get an earbud. Added on February 19, 2011, 10:30 pm yup. It improve the chasis rigid, resonance. That will give you a better handling and conering. coz i dun like the listen to the music in high volume mode as i always chit chatting with my wife during driving.... i know that the roof of civic is like a piece of metal only without any SP.... QUOTE What is the level of your stereo volume you set normally? Mind usually level 4 with mid boost. just wan to spend wisely... if it is worth, then still will consider to fix. If you not willing to pay, what can you do? Even autofoam cost you thousand +. The whole car can be soundproof. 30% can be achieve able + your low noise tyre. I listen to FM most of the time and set the volume at 6-7.... our FD1 dun have the function whereby when the speed is increase the volume also get increase. right? kindly advice. btw, does u mean that SoundProof is better than Autoform? QUOTE(ozak @ Mar 3 2011, 11:36 AM) Many part going to spoil after warranty. What are you gong to do? Are you not willing to pay after warranty? agree with the bold statement..... Once no VSA before driving, you will encounter rough gear shift to D and some jerking when accelerate if I remember. Nothing worry about if without VSA. It just and extra feature for the car not same as yr 90 generation car's quality like my '94 SEG.. also bought 2nd. but doesn't give much problem as my 2nd bought FD1....
