its not psychological.....the car will feel slightly more rigid.....u installed ultraracing?

I did FSB and back ARB. Yes, much nicer cornering, but I didn't like the fact that it will feel "hard" going on uneven road. If you go through a stretch of slightly bumpy road, you will find that things seem to rattle quite a bit. Normally won't encounter these too much during city driving, so I think it's good trade-off for really good cornering and stability.

Anyone here doing Autofoam? Expensive though.

i've just read the user manual.. it stated there for Normal Engine Oil can last for 10,000KM. I assume Normal is fully synthetic..

so actually civic can last for 10,000KM if you're using fully synthetic
*
This is true technically, but Honda will void warranty if you don't come back every 5K, so we got no choice. Fully or semi, must change also every 5K. So far, I am using fully, but feel my money very wasted seeing them throw away the oil when it's still perfectly usable. I even asked if I can take back the oil hahaha.. for my 12-year-old car, but they say cannot.

110K not too bad for people who are really into "green" tech. But I do wish they'd have done the car using the honeycomb-like LED lamp design. I think current Production models using normal lamp only. Doesn't look anywhere near as exciting.

CRZ is nice, but 2-door car, very mar fan. Find it not practical.

I think interest is depending on banks also. For major banks (eg. Maybank, Public Bank), it's normally higher while less prominent ones (eg. EON, Affin) can normally offer lower.

2.79 is not too bad actually, but 2.35 is out of this world. r3kahsttub, betul kah got so low? Seems too far below market place. Quote from SA or from bank? Too bad I just bought also.

zoomckng, your story sounds very similar to the one I just heard today. So coincident. Just to be sure, white Accord with Negri number?

any honda accord owners here ?

Added on November 8, 2010, 11:33 amgreetings guys,

i need your help and advice,
which is a better choice, a new honda accord 2.0 or a civic 2.0?
hows the cost of maintainance for the cars above ?
how much does a normal service including labour cost ?
are this two cars realiabe, are there any common problems for the cars above ?
i am a student and planning to get one of this cars.

is the accord 2.0 under-powered ?

Got one zoomckng that day that just bought an accord. I think most people here are FD drivers and so am I.

As for better choice, depends on your preference and what factors important to you. Civic looks sportier, but it's going to be replaced next year with 9th generation. Supposedly leaked photos of the 9gen seems to suggest a "worse" Civic since it looks more conservative and less pleasing than current. Accord is a new model, so won't be "obsolete" soon, but some people just can't take the bulkier look.

If safety features is more important to you, you might be interested to know that while Civic has VSA, in Accord, this is only available in 2.4 model. For me, this is quite a deal breaker, cos how can 2.0 car has no VSA? Why should I live with less safety features on a more expensive car? But this is just my personal opinion lah. You also lose some features like paddle shift, cruise control, HID in Accord 2.0 whereas these are available in Civic 2.0. Do some research and scour some of those automotive forums.

I think cost of maintenance won't differ by much lah, but I never owned an Accord, so not too sure also.

As for reliability, try scouring forums, but sometimes it depends on luck also. I don't think there will be much difference between models, but personally I feel that Toyota's assembly is better than Honda's. Don't flame me, I am Honda driver too. Reliability is found more on some continental brands, but less resale value and more expensive parts & service.

Accord 2.0 is 100+ kg more than Civic 2.0 if not mistaken, so there must be some difference. I don't think Accord will be under-powered, but Civic should have a better 0-100 I think. Not kaki racing, so didn't really bother. After all no matter how powerful, useless when stuck in KL's famous jams.

You're so lucky. Student also can afford such cars. Me working few years baru dare to buy Civic. Last time also Proton saje.

Guys, try to format with different options. Mine is 16 GB (if not mistaken lah) and initially is like that. But I reformatted using FAT32 and you need to tweak the file allocation size a bit. I can't remember what settings, but if not mistaken, can't be more than 4096 KB.. or was that 1024... Sorry for being lazy to check out my own USB memory, but just try a few settings and you will get it to work.

hi all, wondering what is the most economy/budget way of improving the FD1 NVH???
kinda noisy when driving it.... i know it is well known for HonXX....  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
kindly advice. thanks ya.
*
Sound proofing, but not exactly economical depending on material. Whole car I think need to spend 1K min and more than 2K if done extensively.
But one thing you cannot soundproof is the front and back windscreens lah, so no matter what there will be sound from there especially if raining.

Another is to change tyres, but the effect is depending on what tyre models. My recent change from PP2 to PS3 makes a big big difference in terms of noise level. PP2 is really noisy lah.

Most economical way is to.... turn your music volume really really loud. Guarantee cannot hear other noise tongue.gif

Anyone got recommendation on where to do nice number plates? I've not seen this carbon type design, but I've seen some nice materials before that makes the letters kinda "floaty" and the white is so white, almost as if got light from it. Quite nice.

The road noise is common problem. change to a soft tyre will reduced the road noise further
*
If you're driving FD2 using stock PP2, this one is a proven method. PP2 memang famous for being noisy though it's a tyre that performs well.

Not sure if you change the ARB to aftermarket ones like Ultra Racing, but I find that it increases noise by quite a lot when going through uneven roads due to rigidity.

Best bang for buck in reducing external noise is to sound proof wheel arch and four doors. Very expensive if wanna do more extensive ones.

Any 1 know where got service to do the under carriage insulation foam spray? It is like spraying "rubber" paint at the bottom of the car... it reduce the tyre rolling noise... I know Yong Ming Honda at JB offer this service as i work at Honda before.. But KL mana got this service?

The charges for Yong Ming is around 300-400plus.
*
Quicksave USJ has this. You mean those stuff that sprays out like rubber but hardens when it dries right? I'm not sure if it will reduce noise by much since it's really for water proofing the under-carriage and prevent damage from scratches due to flying stones.

Hopefully it's just crappy photos here, but 9th gen Civic looks like got an ugly butt (or at least the China version has).

Hey bros, first time posting in this thread. Great to see the enthusiasm for the Civic.

I do have one question regarding my Civic(2010 2.0). Does anyone here ever experience some screeching(metal scratching metal) kinda sound when driving? I experience it quite a number of times it's quite loud, especially in carparks. The sound would go away by itself after awhile.

Just wondering if anyone here experience the same problem.

Cheers!

Is it "ting ting" sound like metal hitting metal softly coming from front of the car?

Humming all the time? Sometimes tires will also have humming "wong wong" sound when going through certain type of road surfaces. Mine does, so hopefully this is not because of the wheel bearing lah.
