I heard that Autofoam is good since it's not just dampening but also increase chassis stability and car handling. One down side is that it will spread the impact differently if accident, possibly causing higher repair damage.

Another "removable" option is using those padding like Dynamat, Sikadamp or Soundblok. They reduce sound and heat, but usually don't offer any changes to chasis reinforcement or better handling. Good thing is that they are removable and has less chance of affecting wires, mechanical parts etc. So, depends on what is the purpose.

Anyone done any of these things? Please share experience, prices and contacts.

Dear '06 Civic owners, anyone kind to recommend me a good service workshop around Bandar Utama or Damansara area?

I just sent my wife's civic 1.8 for service interval at 75000km and the price was RM220 for semi synthetic oil, filter, coolant and alignment.

Any suggestions for a better workshop which charges cheaper in future?

If it is really the 1.8S-L, then it is not really increase in price because the standard 1.8S is still available at RM114,980.00. The 1.8S-L will be more expensive because it has certain 2.0S trimmings added. Current 2.0 price is at RM130,980.00 so the 1.8S-L is still RM10K cheaper.

Sometimes cannot blame Honda, the demand is there so they can afford to increase the price and ppl will still buy. But I believe there is a limit cos if the 1.8S is priced too close to Lancer, then I think ppl rather go for Lancer. The other competitor in this range would be the Peugeot 308 turbo but because of it's affiliation with Naza, I think ppl are a bit weary. Peugeot is a good car but too bad it is brought in under Naza.

For any car with a properly functioning ABS, you will find that stopping on uneven roads like gravel or wet roads will actually take a longer distance than a car without ABS. Please remember that the ABS system is not meant to help you stop faster, rather it is to enable you to steer out of harm's way while braking hard, and also to help you brake in a straight line should there be water or other slippery surface.

TCS or VSA helps you stabilize your car while you're negotiating a corner or if one side of your car loses traction. However, if the system is faulty, you should have gotten a warning light on the meter panel.

Sorry this is not entirely correct. If the road isn't wet, a car without ABS will allow you to lock your wheels, enabling you to stop in a shorter distance. The problem is, once stopped your car may not be facing the same direction as when you started braking lol. However, if you don't skid at all, your car will come to a screeching halt faster than if you had ABS which will catch and release the brakes at up to 15Hz, thereby prolonging the distance a bit.

This is very easy to test in the real world especially on a dirt or gravel road. Drive at about 40km/h, then slam on the brakes. Because the gravel will cause your car to slip so much it won't allow your car's tyres to dig into the sand, you'll find your brakes pulsing to a slow but secure halt. If you pull out the fuse for the ABS and try again, you'll find that by letting the wheels dig in you'll stop much faster.

The only time that ABS will help a car stop faster is on a slippery wet surface, and that's only because if without ABS your wheels will lock and you will aquaplane out of control.

As for not letting go, here's an actual exp I had some time ago. I was driving an 04' City iDSI. Coming out from Mid Valley going towards Jln Maarof, while taking the left bend on the overhead bridge (beside Maybank building), at the corner where there is a blind spot a car had just stalled. The road was slippery as it had just finished raining. Upon seeing the stalled car I hit the brakes as I was going about 70km/h. Because I was in the bend, stepping on my brakes hard caused the rear to sway out. So I countered the sway by steering the other way. I had to do this a few times cos the tail kept swinging from left to right because the front absorbers kept getting loaded. My foot was on the brakes hard, but the ABS did nothing to stabilize my car, in fact it felt as if I had no brakes! I had to release the brakes while doing the counter manouver, and only stepped hard when the car was straightening out. Missed the stalled car by inches!

The lesson learnt there is, ABS didn't save my @ss that day, *I* saved my @ss. No matter if you have ABS/TCS/VSA, all that will count for nothing if you lose traction while braking. So better drive slowly and don't be a hero lol.....

turns out the SA not there his friends all cover for him..i saw my car still untouched inside a locked area..still bogel..waste my time and treat me like i pengemis.. i bought my car cash ..some ppl say SA hate cash buyer bcz no duit kopi for them that i dunno..

now front brake till today cannot solve..if u ask me frankly ill never buy a honda anymore..
