QUOTE(oldman @ Nov 13 2008, 11:34 AM) I do wonder why so many people are so willing to change to 018... I do think the charges they put out for calling is quite expensive... I mean I'm a normal guy so when I call my friends I talk for at least 30 secs... and not just 1 sec... So it's quite usual to be billed for the 30 secs block... Is there alot of ppl calling ppl for 1 sec only meh?? I agree with this, especially for prepaid. Even it is per sec billing, the call rate is about 0.8sen/sec which round up to approx 1 sen 1 sec. That's 48sen/min compared to 36 or 33 sen for other telco. Let's say you make a short call about 15-30 sec, i don't see that much savings, unless you do make a lot of calls that are shorter than 5 secs. The only bonus i see worth noticing is the 1 hr free call daily to other 018 numbers.

QUOTE(xpresside @ Nov 19 2008, 09:38 PM) for maxis it's still 48sen a minute UNLESS you top up rm30 it'll be 33cents now? double checked with the hotlink website. it's 49 sen to other networks, 36 to maxis. wow, i think i did miss that one out, not knowing maxis is that expensive. coz maxis now charge in 60 sec block, means a less than 5 sec call can be 49 sen straight. but i guess if u're a regular user which reload every month, you'll get the 33 sen. however i'm still not convienced that per sec billing will save you $$$, since it's call rate is actually 48sen/min. it still depends on your call pattern. if u mobile can give 33sen/min & per sec call rate, then it's definitely saving. anyone see or own the umobile SOU phone already? just saw it in the papers today. is it nice?

when you use u-mobile on celcom network (when you put it into a non 3g phone) quite often you will get the network busy signal. very hard to make calls, gotta try like up to 4-5 attempts only can go through.
however i never experience this before using a celcom sim at the same location. i wonder if there's actually a limit on how much u-mobile can use celcom 2g network.

that is only for calls and sms to other 018 numbers, did you try calling other numbers? the free calls, you just call, you can see the last call cost but it won't be deducted from your credit. it's so nice to see an 1 hour call will cost about rm28++ and yet not deducted from your credit.
