So, was just thinking to port out my Digi to another telco (Maxis or UMobile), since my 3G speed is not worth the money I spent for the past two years. Been looking at UMobile's offering, but just would like to confirm something. If I were to get the U58 postpaid option, do I still need to pay a deposit of 300 for IDD calls? To be honest, that's a bit too much; considering that Digi and Maxis postpaids activates IDD by default. Unless, there's a reason behind this?

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 5 2013, 08:34 AM) Yes needed, unfortunately. Maxis also nowadays require RM300 deposit I think (for recent numbers). When I activated my IDD years ago no need, but I've heard nowadays need liao. Considering how people can suddenly have 1x,xxx bills from roaming, some deposit required I guess. I see. Thanks for the info. Just one more question: does this mean that I pay RM300 upfront as a deposit, and if I want to discontinue the IDD feature in the future, the amount will be refunded? QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 5 2013, 10:53 AM) What else does deposit mean? Got check here a not - http://www.u.com.my/faq/idd - the U FAQs suck, but the information is all there even if a bit hard to find. Yup, I just did. Thanks, bro... Will greatly consider this now...

QUOTE(bardshah92 @ Mar 12 2013, 03:55 PM) Wow, if that's really the case, then the speed is considerably fast too! Since Maxis is famed for their 3G speed.

QUOTE(prasys @ Mar 14 2013, 02:09 PM) In other words after you reach your quota , your Internet speed would be a complete joke That's really bad... even Digi doesn't crawl that slow... Just wondering why they are throttling hard on this...

QUOTE(prasys @ Mar 14 2013, 02:33 PM) But then the fast lane is always there for those who pay extra.....Want faster speeds , cough up and pay or enjoy your slow driving Hope this gives you an idea Yup, I got the idea.. Thanks! But then again, just wondering why the "hard-throttling"? I mean, I can't recall Digi throttling this hard when you reach your bandwidth cap.

QUOTE(prasys @ Mar 14 2013, 02:39 PM) When people try u-mobile , they go wah cheap price and wah internet fast and wah unlimited....For telco , it is to ensure quality of service For people , they see cheap and unlimited , so they just go for it True to that. Every telco has their own pros and cons. If you hop on one bandwagon, be prepared for what you may face; whether good or bad. Let's see how I would experience this, since this is my third telcom change.

Okay, this is getting a bit frustrating. First off, my first request to port from Digi to UMobile (thanks @digilife) has been declined. Went to call customer service, they mentioned that it was because I am currently tied down to the 58 Smart Plan (another 7 more months to go), and if I would like to port out, I would have to cancel the current contract. So, went to the Digi Centre in Pyramid, and paid RM100 to cancel it. Should be okay (double confirmed with the customer service and service centre).
Requested to @digilife to port out again, but this time, it was declined again. The reason? They haven't submitted the request to port out to the service team yet.
Haih, I don't know whether this is because Digi is tying me down longer, and delaying it on purpose...or it really is the service is slower...
