Everyone knows that we are not allow to turn on any electronic devices during take off and landing...

however, we can use any non-radio frequency gadgets during the flight...

so my question is... can we wireless play our DS/PSP in flight?

boleh tak? hmm.gif

technically no. but many international flights now have WiFi 802.11 service. i have tried to log on, but they use that webpage logon method.

if wireless was an issue i think this would not be possible.

A lot of international flight expressively forbade wireless devices,
i am not sure the reason.

To save ourselves from embarassment,
i suggest that we ask the crew before we turned on that DS.

@neogeocdz: playing DS in flight no problem... I does that all the time (once from KL to Siam Reap - 3hrs on TETRIS!!! thumbup.gif )... but wireless... perhaps need to ask. hmm.gif

i dun think they wanna take risk for making their navigation system clash with the 802.11 frequency
so i can assume that the frequency used by the plane is out of the 802.11 frequency range
and since DS still using 802.11 technology
so should be safe

Must be careful when on those flight.....
Nowadays all airlines seems to have slightly different list of "forbidden items",
can be a headache when travel.

This was ages ago. if you look thru MAS in-flight stuff you may still see this on the list.

My say on the matter is such:
I think it more likely for a flock of geese to crash a plane than Wifi signals. That being said, if you wanna feel safe, ask the crew. If the plane has its own wifi network point , its a moot question to ask.

Just that to saves ourselves from embarassment -- ASK,

i was asked to switch off my DS on a Qantas domestic flight..... (With a smile on her face)
Man that was embarassing.... but well i assumed i was on MAS, so my bad.
