is seagate 7200.12 version of hdd safe to use?

Is it only affected by seagate 7200.11 only?

i think depends on ur luck also if your hdd got failure... so far i bought 5 hdds in 10 years only 1 has failed me... and it was a maxtor... the rest is okay.

btw, my seagate 1tb hdd still working fine - i did not flashed to latest firmware... hehe

I tried updating the firmware, but still have problems. I heard success stories after updating the firmware, but i also heard hd is still bricked after firmware.
