Yes, a very good LCD is within sight with your budget. But I wouldn't recommend you getting one since you game a lot of oldies. My recommendation is get a 24 inch high end LCD, and a 21/29 inch CRT TV depending how big is your room. More on this later, lunch break

Smash Bros different, cause it's less......competitive. Most ppl I know play SmasH Bros and have fun...unlike SF,KoF where ppl get soo seriously into it. That's just me,probably being a sourpuss for getting mah ass kicked so much on SF2.

i dun fancy fighting game that much (aside from naruto)...HAND HURTS (but i dun hate them)

Until SF series got really interactive background where we can accidentally kick/break the spectators/item outside the ring or take a chair from the background and use it against our opponent...i'll just see it as another fighting games with visual upgrades

No SF4 for me too.. I'd have bought instantly if it were a 2D game, BUT NO!!!

I've been left out from the market for a while now TBH, but I do know LG does offer a high end Full HD panel at very competitive price (priced almost similar to a low end lousy Sony Bravia). Samsung also offers a good Full HD 32A550 or something below RM3,000. But I can understand Samsung brand is a love or hate.

So far I hear only praise for 32" Full HD panels of LG and Samsung. I can't deny that Sony have very sleek design on their TVs, but that's exactly what you are paying for, the design and nothing else. So I'll let you decide on your own

for rm3000 u can get pretty much a decent 32 inch lcd tv nowadays..my advice is just go and see for urself at the electronic shops. Last time when i wanna buy my bravia s...i pretty much compare the visuals at best denki and also at courts mammoth...best denki got the friendliest sales person that can explain things to u IMHO while courts got the tv hooked up to Astro (which is also a deciding factor for me)...lastly I bought a Jusco which gave me 5% discount for it

So just dun be shy and scout around...
