Can anyone tell me which one is the latest firmware ?
Cause today I take my phone to SE service center ...
They say there is no new firmware ... sweat.gif
My firmware is
1208-0527
R1BA042
081028

Is this the newest ?  unsure.gif
*
Latest is
1208-0527
R1DA032
090204

Yours is old firmware. You check if you got smile shutter, youtube, wayfinder 8, walkmate, track, etc in your phone.

Which SE service center you brought to? I prefer the 1 in Amcorp mall and near Leisure Mall.

That's weird. Cause that day I brought to them to fix the keypad they asked if wanted to update the firmware or not as there is new version. I told I updated with SEUS.

Maybe you try with SEUS. Very easy DIY.

well update with SEUS..sometimes can harm your phone...just send it to centre...anyway..how about updating through phone..it is the easiest method.. hmm.gif
*
I've tried updating through phone doesn't detect the latest firmware. Only SEUS can detect the latest firmware.

What do you mean SEUS will harm your phone? I think it can update the firmware or got problems updating. 50% chance.

If you're scared to DIY then bring it to the authorized SE service center.

Finally, my earphone spoilt edi ytday. Firstly ytday I thought network prob so no sound, today friend called, no sound again, checked, then only realize it's spoilt.

My phone more than 3 months edi, asked some shops, they said warranty for earphone is only forst 1st 3 months sad.gif Needa repair.

Anyone got any idea approx. how much will it cost for the earphone repairing?

*Btw sending to warranty, how long does it takes for them to fix ah? Friend tell me his phone but other model, send in, waited almost for a month only get back. 1 month without phone can die =(
*
Original can take a few days to a week+. But also depends on the availability of the spare parts.

Not sure about AP. But 1 month? You still have you're old phone? Luckily I kept my old W900i when I heard C905 lots of problems.

I guess this is the cons of buying AP.

After something happen then my phone finish lo  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Just follow the instructions on the screen and you'll be fine.

If something happened during SEUS you can bring back to SE service center and they can re-flash the firmware for you as they got the tools we don't have.

ya lor joey... Today i straight went to sungei wang to ask around. Firstly there's this shop say can fix, 130 bucks, 45 minutes...Ok lor, abit expensive but the time needed is just 45 mins, after 45 mins, he tell me cant make it, cause need specific tools to open it up. Therefore, failed sad.gif

Tomorrow, going to Telstra in Lowyat to ask how long is needed. If it's long, I might as well send to SE service centre in plaza berjaya, and pay for the parts zzzzz...

regret buying so soon sad.gif
*
I'm scared will cost a bomb to repair the earphone. Even the keypad is about RM200+ for expired warranty or AP C905.

what?! 200+?! U asked edi ar joey? That cost like ...... really expensive =.=

Is it for the keypad + the navigation keys (up down left right), or keypad alone? Any idea how much is the navigation keypad? Mine the down key cacated sad.gif

Btw, it's a ribbon, not the earphone I asked some shops. The ribbon that spoilt caused the earphone to not function. Anyway, I think I'll consult at SE service centre tomorrow, and if it's expensive/takes a long time to repair, I might as well send for warranty.

Will let you guys noe the price 2morrow wink.gif
*
The keypad only. The guy said got 2 keypad underneath and will cost RM200+ to change.

Try downloading to a thumbdrive from maploader. Malaysia Map about 55MB. Then copy it to your M2's other folder.

Anyway this was discussed long time ago.

I don't really get your question. What I did for my Trekbuddy maps was to 'tar' them and copy them over into the memory card. The Klang Valley map isn't really complete though.

blurjoey:
Still ain't working. The most it got was bout 10% and the bar simply disappears.

Yea, I've checked previous posts written by you, but the Malaysia Map is about 82MB now.. unless I've selected the wrong map.

So far has the Wayfinder been satisfactory for you? I'm planning to get 36 months (not much of a price diff compared to 12 months). Sheesh.. if only I could get it to work now.
*
I downloaded the maps using the internet line at work (TimeDotCom really fast to European countries). Maybe it's the connection problem. Wayfinder is in Europe I think.

I'll try downloading tomorrow at work the new maps and upload somewhere for you to download.

The price is different on their website and in the C905. Last time I also thought about getting 3 years.

Anyway the wayfinder is good if you don't have or don't want a Garmin GPS which is a lot better.

Wayfinder got navigation and Gmaps don't.

Anyway if you are using Maxis postpaid, you can subscribe to the 5MB data pack for RM5-8 per month (can't remember which). Before I subscribed, my 3G/2G usage was RM80+ for downloading 5MB data for that month from using the Wayfinder and Gmaps sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Ah that's fantastic. Would really appreciate the effort, although I understand uploading 82MB of data isn't easy at all. Thank you, nevertheless.

You mean the subscription price for C905 is cheaper or more expensive? So 1 year subscription is more worthwhile then in your opinion?
Even if you don't use often, a short period of downloading the maps on the fly drains money like crazy!
Owh, another great finding. I didn't know it's that cheap to subscribe a 5MB data pack. But how long could 5MB last anyway?
Exactly my point, my usage was approximately at RM30 or so now from using Gmaps alone sad.gif
*
Sorry bro. Was busy at work. Stupid internet and end-user problems at work. Will download and upload tomorrow.

Anyway I've re-checked the prices on my C905. 1 year is 39 Euros and 3 years is 49 Euros. Last time check was a huge difference.

Go to wayfinder.com for the quick guide and manual. There are also youtube videos on how to use.

If you download the offline map of Malaysia using the Wayfinder Maploader, you can save $ on the 2G/3G connection of downloading the map. But there are some charges when searching for the address using 2G/3G.

Also turn off A-GPS so that it won't use 2G/3G connection to detect your location when GPS signal is lost.

Here is the link for the maps of Malaysia & Singapore 82MB for Wayfinder Navigator in a zip file of 21.6MB

http://rapidshare.com/files/222252109/other.zip.html

Please delete your old maps (*.wfd files) in your M2's other folder and replace with the above.

Anyone can download and upload to somewhere permanent? Can only be downloaded 10 times.

I think you need to create an account with Wayfinder and the license is there. Also if you go to MyWayfinder on your phone, it will direct you to a login screen.

Hi blurjoey, I have some question. Does using Wayfinder costs money? I am not talking about the cost of buying license, I am just wondering if it's using Internet for navigation.

I understand that Trekbuddy is free, but Wayfinder is much more superior than Trekbuddy isn't it? Besides, how much is the subscription cost for Wayfinder?

I am just a going-to-be C905 owner, sorry if my question appear to be stupid tongue.gif

Oh, cool. I see the irritating globe once in awhile too, still feel that it's actually downloading something..although the consumption is no longer that much.  I've read in the manual that the downloaded map requires to be 'activated', but I just can't find the option to do so.

I've read bout the package on maxis' official website, but there's no instructions on how to subscribe the package  rclxub.gif

Any plans on subscribing bro? Or u plan to crack it right away?  tongue.gif  brows.gif
Bought mine about RM1720, Midland set two weeks back.  Atlantis SS2 was selling about RM1600 that time for original. I could imagine the price would've dropped slightly by now.

Camera's awesome. (Is it just me, or I've a dejavu that I've answered this question before..  hmm.gif )
But, in the wrong hands (such as mine).. it still could produce ordinary pictures easily surpassed by lower camera specifications.
