Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Just got it less than an hour ago. The first chapter alone pulls you in. Betrayal from the very beginning.

hi there!

just found out LYN has this sub forum on books;)

anyways, here's my reading/recommendation thingy:

currently reading:

1. Outliers: The Story of Success -Malcolm Gladwell [read it when i'm in the mood for non-fiction;)]

2. The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture- John Battelle [same reason as no 1 tho i much prefer this than no 1 due to its 'IT' speak;)]

3. Mounting Fears- Stuart Woods

4. Rough Country-John Sandford [have yet to start this one since i still haven't finished no 3 d;)]

5. An illustrated biography of the World's most successful investor:warren buffet-translated from Ayano Morio's original Japanese edition

some recommendations [in no particular order]:

1. Ed McBain's books of the 87th precint.

if you like good police/investigative stories, you'd love this one. i've read most of his books and they are quite hard to find.
he's also writing under 'Evan Hunter' and some pseudonyms.

2. Stuart Woods- espionage/thriller

read his earlier books since they are much nicer and well written. the latter ones like the one that i'm reading is just so-so and hence the delay in completing it;)

3. Andy McNab-war/espionage/ thriller

if you like the army type stories, u'd love this.

4. Chris Ryan - same vein as no Andy Mc Nab

5. The Google Story -Inside the Hottest Business, Media and
Technology Success of Our Time - David A. Vise and Mark Malseed

6. Ridley Pearson-suspense thriller

7. John Nance-aviation suspense thriller

8. Vince Flynn-suspense espionage thriller

9. William Heffernan-suspense thriller

10. Evan Wright - Generation Kill [true story of a Rolling Stone reporter who tagged along with the US Marine Recon @ Iraq]. check out the 7-episode series as well.

Am looking out for:

1. Nathaniel Fick-One Bullet Away [the liutenant in Generation Kill]

2. Vince Flynn-pursuit of honour

cheers
