Recent books:

Anathema by Neal Stephenson - Sci-Fi, excellent book, but you must be prepared to pay attention and think especially given the language & maths theories he includes in the plot.

Farthing and Ha'Penny by Jo Walton - Alternate history novel, where Britain strikes a peace with Nazi Germany instead of going to war with them. Depressing, but well written series. Waiting for the 3rd book, Half A Crown, to come out in paperback.

tell me about it... hoping it comes out this year at least.

Finished The Hunger Games series. My god that was dark... but damn good pacing. No wasted sequences like in a lot of other YA books...

Hi requiem73. never tried Wolfsangel (never heard of it) but finished Hundred Thousand Kingdoms earlier last year & just ordered the follow-up Broken Kingdoms. It's certainly verrry good non-traditional fantasy - no farm boys growing up to fulfil ancient prophesies of overthrowing a wicked overlord here....

How's the Blade itself? Is it a completed series? Heard some good feedback on it & don't mind giving it a shot if all the books have been written & are available.

I just finished Sword of Truth Book 1 by Terry Goodkind. Somehow it feels like a big S&M adventure..anyone else read it before?

God, that's an excellent description. Really crappy book. After I finished it, wanted to hit myself for wasting time - & you can tell it was gonna be dumb at the beginning, with the whole Committee to Ban Fire shite.
