Joanne "Jo" Rowling OBE[1] (born 31 July 1965), who writes under the pen name J. K. Rowling, is a British author, best known as the creator of the Harry Potter fantasy series, the idea for which was conceived whilst on a train trip from Manchester to London in 1990. The Potter books have gained worldwide attention, won multiple awards, and sold more than 400 million copies.

Rowling had mentioned that she is not planning to write an 8th Harry Potter book for another 10 years laugh.gif
But as it is, fans are able to look forward to the encyclopedia of Harry Potter's wizarding world consisting of various unpublished material and notes thumbup.gif

Not to mention that we'll also be able to read new stories from here on after biggrin.gif

I am planning to introduce Harry Potter to my daughter, as soon as she's interested in reading thicker books. Right now she's into colouring books, so I've a few more years ahead of me to prepare for the day I hand her my dog-eared Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. Woohoo!!

Still remember I got my 1st HP novel from my aunt for my birthday in my primary school. That's the time where I started to read novels haha. I even pre-ordered the last book from overseas, and heck it arrived later than expected.

My cousin is a huge fan. Me? I just leech from her. Honest thoughts are that the earlier books are better then the last few. Perhaps the subject matter got heavier and the books got grimmer, but I felt as though Harry Potter lost his magic later on - where was the fun, wondrous books about a boy finding out about magic and friendship and love? Instead we have death, more death, and death as a cherry on top.

Yeah... the fun all turned into gloomy end. But that's what life about. We're happy when we're young, but later we're stressed by lots of stuff haha.

I hate Hermione taken by Ron..... well, at least it's better than "charming o Victor Krum" haha!

Her Harry Potter series are just as captivating as reading about her own autobiography -- she is one of the few who literally went from rags to riches, and just by writing children story books biggrin.gif

Have anyone here read the latest book by Rowling. The Tales of Beedle the bard.

A compilation of short story with Dumbledore notes. The same book mention in the Deathly Hallows.

well, it's just a collection of wizarding fairy tales like the muggles have their snow white, cinderella stuff. only the stories is a bit different in a way. because each story got lesson to learn. its fun to read, i guess because its written by jkrowling, she got a great sense of humour that woman. nod.gif
