kennmeng, as posted up above .. upgrading RAM yourself won't void the warranty unless you damage your macbook while upgrading, then .. it is totally different story. Upgrading RAM most probably the most non-brainer thing that you could do on your MB.

I upgraded mine from 2GB to 3GB (max for my MBP old version) .. doesn't feel any different either.. probably, my current load doesn't really need me to have that much RAM ..

@rx330, 52USD for the RAM itself + 16USD international shipping.
Should be around 250RM in total then.

@jims2005, yes DDR3 1066, I'm not sure about the custom tax in Malaysia, but here in Germany I suppose it will be released without tax. Once I heard custom only tax for item more than 100USD. Not sure it's true or not.

Anyway, esssymanex, cannot ask for refund or exchange? Since it is lifetime warranty...

I was thinking about the shipping back cost about Rm 140.00. Since then, better i used it. It very rare freeze up but notice if you do sleep the macbook for long hours, normally turn to freeze.

is that necessary to use only the Apple certified RAM module? Can a normal Kingston/Corsair SO-DIMM work well?
