QUOTE(JasonKid @ Dec 3 2009, 01:21 AM) Gosh -.- that one got the "for Apple" chop...that's why become expensive. even hard drives also like that... juz different format only n they can add rm100-200 to the price The RAM i asking is so expensive -.- VSA4GSDSKIT1066 DDR3, 1066 MHz 4GB 2x204 SODIMM, Unbuffered, CL7 ~ RM690 o.o But the normal CORSAIR DD3 SODIMM only RM176- - the normal corsair stick is exactly the same thing. the one u mentioned was tested on a Mac so Corsair can guarantee it to be compatible. that's like saying a car is guaranteed to run on Shell petrol ;p |

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Dec 31 2009, 12:22 PM) @megatron007 i think should be Apple-certified Kingston RAM ;pYes Apple don't produce any RAM but what I meant from mac RAM is RAM that's been certified by Apple to be fully compatible with their product. That's why Kingston have 2 brand: KTA = Kingston Certified Apple RAM KVR = Kingston Value RAM (normal over the shelf ones) Apple certified RAMs are more expensive than those normal ones. |

QUOTE(TakanoKyohei @ Feb 27 2010, 12:31 AM) may i know your ram speed, because i do upgrade to 4GB mushkin ram and its boost up my 1066Mhz to 1333Mhz, so far no problem but i got 1 panic kernel when my brother open everything and it stuck a while then kernel panic happen. i googling around and read people said that their battery performance drop a while but i don't think it still the same, 4 to 5 hour battery life for me. im using macbook pro 13" and mushkin enhanced 2x2GB by the way. price rm168 per piece. u sure about that? can post ur About this Mac window? afaik the FSB is fixedQUOTE(r47z @ Mar 1 2010, 08:01 AM) imac i5 still uses 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMMs, same with the current macbooks |

^ strongly agreed
OWC / crucial = the best, but cannot get locally kingston KTA / apple original = too expensive, but adding the rm350 (somewhere around that price, forgot actual price) when customizing a mac at the online store is worth it, since almost no one wanna buy 2x1gb anyway corsair / mushkin = probably best choice, no (or very few) compatibility issues, n price juz slightly more expensive than kingston KVR, maybe rm10-30 like that kingston KVR = if lucky, can work. but quite a few incompatibility problems reported around |

Altho my i5 is 4gb, it's not enough when I go full power squeezzing process of editing tiff files converted from raw + filters and whatnots. It'll start to crawl.... seems like that's the one. wait is 4gb rm600 now?Edited : I just saw the price list in C-Zone. KINGSTON PC1066 D3/ CORSAIR PC1066 D3 Notebook Ram 2GB RM175 / 4GB RM600. Is this the one ? |

QUOTE(wanobi @ Jun 2 2010, 05:40 PM) hai wow, 8gb RAM I just buy corsair 4 gig DDR 3 PC 8500 1066Mhz CL 7 notebook ram from sri computer and already install in my imac 27' i5 and the result is bursting and fast..can multitasking with ai ps ae 3d max(parallel windows 7) and other softwares some says mac only compitible with some ram and all that are mitos..even the factory ram from imac is samsung ram.. i just save my money..the apple reseller sell KTA and KVR too expensive..the "upah" for install the ram is RM 150..WTH! even stupid people can install themselves The corsair is only RM 170 per piece(2 gig)..so total is RM 340 and I'm very happy Apple is actually a normal PC which have different touch(design and software) by Mac only look for reviews on KVR RAMs u'll see there are a lot of incompatibility issues (kernel panic). something about the KVR voltage is slightly lower. thankfully i didnt experience that on my old MBP with KVR. sure some people are able to use KVR w/o any problems... it's just better to go for corsair/mushkin instead of buy KVR > cant work > drive back to shop to RMA. correction: Mac is actually a normal PC which have different touch(design and software) by Apple only This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Jun 2 2010, 07:27 PM |
