Not mean lah, but saying no to ori is like saying I want to buy a car but I don't want to pay the for the fuel. The car should move by itself or else why would I want to invest so much

The car should move by itself or else why would I want to invest so much Lol dude, that's a different story. I buy the car but I still willing to pay for the fuel because I don't have a second choice, unless there is pirated oil that works absolutely fine and safe, then I will opt for the pirated one. This is same when applying to the "not buy ori" thing, "most" consumers surely go for the lowest cost but still get the same satisfaction thingy. This post has been edited by Aaron1988: Jan 20 2009, 08:52 PM |

Your logic is not choosing between which one to buy, it's choosing to buy or to steal

QUOTE(ajis @ Jan 20 2009, 08:05 PM) Gundam is not mean.He is just telling the truth. I would love to drive a Mini Cooper, but i am poor, does it mean i can go steal a Mini Cooper? Same goes here, I would love to play games, but out of budget, does it mean i can go get pirated games (STEALING)? |

I'm not supporting Ori or Pirated . I'm just highlighting the trend or culture in this country.
Rough estimation, I believe 80% of Malaysian buy pirated... If u hate people who buy pirated stuff, u hate 80% of Malaysians. It's not easy to change , it may need years over years of efforts, education, enforcement etc.. in order to see....ohh..finally ,Malaysians totally reject pirated. Then, you will never see those pirated games/DVD/VCD sellers in this country. |

It's not about hate, it's about the wrong mentality that many of us have inherited over the years. Yes, it takes time to correct such flawed mentality, but something need to be done instead of just understanding the situation.

Frankly speaking, nothing we can do , even the government can't do much. Only time will tell. You and me may be rich. There's nothing to scream about for paying hundred over bucks to buy a game title once a month or even once a week. But what about majority of people in this country? Nothing we can compare with those rich/developed countries like US. how much is their citizens' average income per annum? Buying a game for them is just like buying a nut... |

People worked hard to develop the games, so they are rewarded when people start purchasing them.. by pirating the money will not go to them who have the right to earn that money. Money is secondary in this regard to the consumers, awareness is what we are lacking.
Added on January 21, 2009, 12:32 pmEducation and enforcement might help, but I do see police wearing uniforms buying pirated movies in the kopitiam, while teachers openly declaring the wrong goodness of pirating in classes ever so often This post has been edited by gundamalpha: Jan 21 2009, 12:32 PM |

U speaks like it is our RIGHT to steal games, because we are poor. Who says the government can't do much? They could raise our average income and purchasing power. If u think the government can't do much, u should probably kick them out during election, or think of migrating to Australia or Singapore. I am not rich, but i agree that stealing is not right. hii everyone..i think better start to stop talking about lanun games or else this thread will be closed..i can see that this thread is quite useful for somebody new..my opinion for TS is that he only can choose xbox 360 based on his preferences (ps2 is out as he seems to look for the new generation)..the main hindrance is his price range.. for all i can see the new xbox 360 arcade is around rm1200 but this package has its own weakness..
first it only has composite cable, (need at least component cable to enjoy the true new generation games better HDMI cable so i think u will need mayb rm100+rm160+rm160 at least for all that..that makes that u need at least rm16xx for u to really enjoy it..my advice get this complete or u regret it its the advantages of xbox360.. or if ur budget is too constrain u can looked at used set (only falcon/jasper)..saw some good deals at our garage sales..btw i hv both ps2 and xbox360..bought wii for my lil bro..so i think the xbox360 suit u perfectly..hope ps3 owners can comment on this thread even though its out of TS preferences... |

The three consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, most of which are known only to the people that usually stick to the three console Subforums, and rarely check this specific neck of the woods.
if you are really serious about getting a console, i would suggest going into the 3 sub-forums and having proper discussions with them, rather that putting a blanket question here and expecting useful answers. Thats the kind of homework you should be prepared to do if you're thinking of spending RM1000+ on a machine. Say what you want that is a lot of money. Unfortunately, - "NOT willing" to b** "original" games is not suitable content as per the regulations of this forum. You will have to find those specific answers elsewhere. |
