got brain = aim for STPM

got $$ = aim for IPTS ( A-level / Foundation / Ausmat / Matriks )

some private colleges... if ur SPm / STPM result superb... then u can apply for their SCHOLARSHIPs...

newspaper also got scholarship mah... THE STAR / NEWS STRAIT TIMES / SIN CHEW JIT POH n ETC.

my college got scholarship holders from those newspapers... happy.gif

i think u better go to IPTS because chinese very hard to get in local 'U'...
if u really want to enter local 'U"
u must make sure that u able to score well in u'r stpm....

i have some chinese fren in polytechnic that able to get cpga 3.9x also unable to enter local'u'.....

so think carefull.....

it quite simple really........

since it's in the engineering field, which isn't too difficult to get.....

no money, or got money but don't want to spend........do stpm

got money, go ipts.......

the difference of 1 or 2 years in graduating age is irrelevant in the long run.......

I am stuck with this 2 since my dad state that Form6 is better since I can stand a chance to go in local uni.If i cant go in local uni, then he baru send me to UTAR or MMU.

I am still waiting for my SPM result.Hopefully can score all 11 subject...

So it is a good choice to take stpm with chance to save me up to rm50k ++ on tuition fees? How abou the education quality?Let say UM vs MMU,which one will be better?I am a chinese anyway... icon_rolleyes.gif

Btw,I am interested in engineering in electronic majoring in IT or computer..I saw MMU offer stuff lik tis smile.gif

Plan for PTPTN loan..but if local one,my dad say no loan can pay straight.. sad.gif

here a little advise cx im oso a former STPMer.. tongue.gif
for ur info.. spm n stpm r 2 different story.. and well there is a huge difference in term of difficulty.. spm=easy one, stpm=super duper tough.. rclxub.gif haha.. so if u gt money.. strongly suggest go for diploma/colledge... thumbup.gif save ur time n easier.. else go for stpm.. its a very very challenging cert reli..

and im oso a utm student now.. 2nd yrs degree now.. if ure interested in utm since its a premium university in engineering n technology.. go for it!
mayb taking a diploma over kl campus thr 1st.. then transfer ur credit once u finish ur diploma for a bachelor degree in utm skudai here..

the requirement for entering e&e is quite high oso.. for stpm u ned to get 3.8+ min.. so mayb diploma is a good choice after all..

good luck smile.gif

are you good in physics and maths?

if you feel you're good and your spm results are encouraging then go for STPM by all means.

however if your results aren't too convincing then you can apply for ipts.

anyway think about your choices and wait for your results to come out 1st before making any rash decisions.

if you want to know a trick for getting into a local Uni after form 6 let me know and i'll tell you about it.

As an ex stpm-er myself, spm and stpm are 2 totally diff story.
I scored 9a's for my spm in 06, and now I doubt I'll even pass the stpm, I know I am failing my chemistry, as in serious failing, not the "omg im gonna fail and u end up got a C"
I was under alot of stress and finally i can breathe free, I decided to go MMU.
Imma doing mechanical engineering. And oh one thing, I might need to retake foundation year.
Money is not a big issue, my parents are mediocre teachers with peanut pay, there is always ptptn.
The amount might seemed huge, but ask urself, are you willing to face failure after stpm, U will end up with some weird courses (eg, perhutanan/ukur jalan wtf) OR you rather spend more money on a degree course that will secure you a job. Slowly climb the ladder, no one goes up the ladder by flying unless ur dad owns a huge company X_X

Yes, I heard that STPM holder (mostly Chinese) easily beat anyone from Matriculation. Thats why Matriculation path could be risky unless you could study very hard.

dear ts.. if u interested in engineering and wanna safe a few thousand K on the fee.. i suggest u go form 6 lor.. going IPTS straight will cost u roughly 50-70k .. if u go to local Uni it is jus bout 20-30k.. so jus thing about it.. r u able to paid up the 70k after u grad. how much u think u will earn when u grad. for me jus go form 6 or if able apply for matriculation.. then fo local uni.. utm, ukm, um, upm and usm can offer all this at a lower price.. plus when u come in here u can apply for JPA if u r lucky.. u able to study for free.. my advice is go local uni and it will save u a bomb
