to a certain degree , i believe liverpool FC have fans and supporters who are more loyal, takes higher pride as fans and emotionally, more attached to their club than united. this is judge by me from discussing with friends and especially reading liverpool's forum here and elsewhere and yes , although man united football discussion forum are of good quality but liverpool forum are just excellent. believe me , you guys have plentiful of good forum posters who are able to assess , interpret and analyse football game better ,and the final evidence is that whenever a new threads get started , more often than not , it generates many comments and input from liverpool supporters and fans
lately in this month of january 2009, i read and heard more frustrations, rants and anger from liverpool fans ,more than anything else , i could feel you guys are genuine and loyal supporters especially in this current testing time where waves and waves of results , supposingly should go liverpool way but gone otherwise instead , drives the nut out of every liverpool supporters whether genuine and loyal or casual and more so as this season , the hope for the long wait may finally come to an end at least this belief occur in december last year . but everyone who follows the BPL are aware , the prize are not lost and won in january and even if united are in a strong position , there are still enough games for liverpool to catch-up or even overtake
liverpool and manchester united are great great footballing club with great success ,traditions and history with millions of supporters for each spread worldwide . although both club supporters have long ago on paper and mouth and lately on the internet ,declared war on each other through cursing and swearing at each others .i believe the competition and the desire to be the best of the best drives both club supporters to this level of rivalry
as long as both club fans and supporters not open fire and go to war about it , long may this intense rivalry between this two great clubs continue
P/S : guys i can understand your frustration as i've been a united supporter for 32 long years and i 'll stick with the club i support through thin and thick even those long suffering years of the 70s and 80s
You know what, I do agree on what you said. I'm maybe supporting Liverpool not as long as you are, but loyalty is in the blood now. In my Liverpool years, I never felt the happiness on winning the league. But I stay loyal to my club. But you see in Malaysia, while most of football fans are around Liverpool and United, Liverpool fans are mostly old-die-hard fans and more mature while many but not all United fans are just some glory hunter and start to support United at their peak 90s and current. So I would say many United fans are just young and immature and blindly support without knowing the history behind it. I said this because I see people around me are like that. And I know many of Chelsea fans are also like that, glory hunter. But I do know some people who are really love their club (United and Chelsea) and support them since long ago, following them on hard days, and I respect them. And I'm not saying all Liverpool fans are mature, but most of them are.
We're ranting particularly on this month because of recent results. We're sad about it. We're bitter about it. And as usual, we hate when long-rivalry United is above us. I've been in this thread for a long time (since 2-3 seasons ago) but mostly just wandering around reading, sometimes express my feeling. I like to have a war with United fans but make it base on facts and analysis, not anger and stupid swearing.
I believe Liverpool can make it this season, providing that no more ridiculous play and formation since we are at the best this season, compare to so many seasons ago.
