It's a good game until Gerrard scored. Then it's became so lame that I knew Everton gonna pick up something from our carelessness. And it's always Cahill who done it so many times before, savaging and being savior of the day. 75minutes and we already played time wasting like bottom team always done? And sub both our strikers? It's stupid.

Gerrard goal was great but Cahill equalizer was clever. He sneak in front at the right time and put us stunned..

And why both fans so quiet today? Snow stuffed their mouths? So cold to the bone and shivering to shut their brain control?

Btw, my premonition came true at the end..

United, you may laugh today but it's us who'll be laughing on May.

I already had a bad feeling about this game earlier.I mean how could we possibly play Mourinho's style after gerrard scored?Rafa surely never hear about " attack being the best defense" eh?  doh.gif
*
Only Liverpool will play like this. Other top teams will never play defensive so early in the game. Chelsea, Arsenal, they don't even know what defend is, fully attack and attack. United play more moderate approach, attack and defend casually. Liverpool? One goal, sub everyone, ultra defensive. Rafa is great, but this kind of play surely won't get us anywhere.

Furthermore, it's not like Stoke last week, where all eleven players at the back. Everton opens up an yet we still can't penetrate their defensive line. Gerrard goal was from distant. For me, today everybody played well as individual but not so good as a team. Baines and Hibbert defend their zone so well.

So lets blame Lucas like last week as things goes wrong when he came on..hahahahhaha...jk tongue.gif

Ultra defensive with Lucas on instead of Mascherano? Not in a million years dude.

It's pretty obvious Rafa intended to deploy Benayoun for more width and Gerrard getting more space after Keane's off.

But he will never leave Kuyt the 'golden boy' on the bench. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

QUOTE(-Rox- @ Jan 20 2009, 03:22 PM)
I think rafa need to give more time to Robbie Keane to perform instead of taking him off every 60 mins.
It's unfair for him.
*
Maybe not. I guess Rafa know his player and how well he's doing in training. All the aspects like fitness, stamina, style of play must be taken into account. Keane plays not like when he played for Spurs. Here he got more running and chasing the ball and try to make space. Kuyt is maybe an alien for having such a stamina.

But Torres proved that he can play for more than 90 minutes based on last season. But now he's just back from injury. Maybe his fitness nowhere nearly 100%. I'm not saying all Rafa did was right but looking at positive side, he maybe just want to protect the players, especially Torres which is now prone to injury. I remembered seeing him rolling on the field after such small collisions last night. I just hope that he won't pick up any injury anymore because at this point, we need him to get our 19th, and do all the magic like last season.

Remember, Gerrard last night goal maybe his last goal and play for us. While the decision is maybe towards Gerrard side with all the new findings but I won't say he's fully safe from being jailed.

What I can say, Liverpool improved this season but still not enough to gain top points. We still need luck and points drop from other teams, not depending on our true ability.

Added on January 20, 2009, 3:42 pmAnd why everybody only looked at Cahill? It's Arteta who drive in the ball so beautifully that Cahill can nodded it past Reina. And several more freekicks, Arteta was such a threat, his freekicks were always on target and powerful. Lucky we have Reina.

Since we're out of Carling Cup, this FA is the only domestic cup we need to win, badly. I don't think Rafa will put crappy lineup (Lucas, watchout!) for it. I'd say this second match will be harder than the first one. Everton manage to hold us and gaining confident for the 2nd match. We also, need to revenge and put all the possible trophy in sight. Both team fired up for this collision.

Rafa had put the Newcastle trashing as a benchmark for the team performance. Isn't it too much to mark that match as benchmark? Too much for our players to handle?

I read Tomkin's latest article and all he said made some points. We may not win this season but at least we showed that we are capable on doing it. But he said next season we must win it or never.

I can't wait for this Sunday. All eyes will be on us again.

I heard it too. But I don't know that Juve is the one who wants him. The offer's good. But will Rafa let him go?

Kuyt is a good player, but not great. His first touch are bad. His passes are mostly bad. The only good thing is his running, making space for others. So I guess I won't miss him if he left us.

Honestly, it should be Liverpool game. We control most of the ball, manage to get one fantastic goal but a little mistake (same as last week) in defending set piece cause us a replay, which increase the pressure on the tight fixtures ahead. Everton doing a very good job on defending. Their deep defensive line, two players marking Torres, wingers constantly help defending both flanks, a good defending. At least we are better than last Monday. Cahill again showed a very clever move, again making our marking 'kelam kabut'. Even commentator also praised him. Skrtel, not wanna making the same mistake, let Lescott free.

I'm not mad. We played good football today.

Next FA cup fixture:

Liverpool or Everton v Doncaster or Aston Villa

Is it a good draw or bad? I got a bad feeling about this. Aston Villa is more likely to go the next round and meet us IF we can beat Everton next week (is it?). AV has the same style as Everton, so expect another fierce battle later. Why is it only Liverpool will go through the hard way towards the trophy? And I love it!!

Like Tomkin's article, I see Babel as a hit and miss player. So inconsistent that when he's good, he'd be a hero (remember he outpace Fabregas and scored) but as opposite, he just a worst blunder, and last night he's just horrible. I remembered someone said he as the next Henry, but now, nowhere near that. Babel is known by us as a super sub, and he suppose to continue doing so. Maybe Rafa wants to give him chances but he just cant take the chances given.

Riera in the other hand, I'm quite fond of him since ManC but not confident he can compete at Liverpool. It seems that I was wrong. He is the best winger for the time being, and cheap too. I love seeing him using fancy moves to evade the defenders rather than Babel using his speed and pace. But sadly, he can only play on the left. Now we need to find someone like him for the right side and breaking the defense will be easier.

I expect to see a little weakened side for Wigan's game. Expect Keane and Lucas to start. But I guess Rafa won't take any chances to make us drop points again. Enough on dropping points till now, time to be a genuine title challenger.

QUOTE(Casanova88 @ Jan 28 2009, 12:40 AM)
If Torres can fit to the team in his 1st season, why can't Keane do it.
Furthermore, Torres never had any EPL experience when he joined Reds...

Answer??

Such an immature talk. You sound like you just watched football for a month. And you sound just like most United fans, being unreasonable.

I'm not picking a fight with you but please analyze the facts, history, and Rafa's tactic before you talk bad on someone.

Not everybody with such high value will succeed. We've seen so many flops not only in Liverpool history but in other teams too. Same league not necessarily same tactic throughout the teams. Individually, someone will have his down times in his career, and maybe now is the time for Keane. Remember when Crouch being goal shy for almost a season, but he manage to thrive it and settled down before he's been decided not fit into Rafa's style. It's just half a season and everybody talk bad about him. FIY, Keane is in Liverpool not because Rafa wants to, but the directors. He wants Barry, not him. So don't blame if Keane is not picked. And I believe he's been working hard to show that he deserved to be in the starting lineup. Give him another 5 months. Torres is a monster. I also didn't expect him to be that good in his first season. He has magic. But don't forget, not everyone is like him.

So please. Think first before starting flamebaiting.

Babel is such a great talent. But somehow lately he was not doing well. Maybe pressure from Riera made him like that. He's pushing into the lineup and wanted to show Rafa that he's good but that made him more impatient and selfish. Man at such young age, don't we all have times like that too.. Unless he can prove that he can bring something to the team, I don't believe that he should be in the starting lineup, as sub maybe ok. At least he can provide another style if we are in tight situation.

I don't like to watch any pundits and analyze. Even most of them were once a Liverpool player, they just talk rubbish about Liverpool. They looked down to us. But praised United, Chelsea or even Arsenal. Also I hate to watch they talk about the same things over and over again every week.

Thanks everybody for backing me up. This is Anfield spirit!!

Btw, I don't know why United bought Berba since they have marvelous lineup of forwards, want to stop Spurs coming eh (based on last season)? Or he himself thinks there is no more feeder like Keane, gone to Liverpool? Ok enough, that's United story, we don't give a damn here.

Keane on the other hand, discussed millions times before. He just not suit for Rafa formation, plus now with Torres back in front. Rafa squeeze him before just to shut up the paper talks. He's good. But he doesn't seem to show it here. No luck maybe? And tonight, Rafa'll give him another chance to prove himself by ensure him in the starting lineup. I expect no Torres tonight, saved for weekend big match. Just let Keane be, there are another half season to go. He's doing his best now.

And can someone tell me where to stream tonight's match?

Nice through ball by Masch. And nice keeper-rounding by Benayoun. Great goal.
