We have finished the conversations about the contract for now and we can talk about Everton.

Is your argument with the owners?
I will talk about Everton - I don't have any problem with the owners.

Is this resolvable though, Rafa?
The game against Everton? For sure.

But Liverpool fans are concerned...
I will talk just about Everton.

rafa sure knows how to handle the press tongue.gif

Can I just ask you about the transfer news regarding Jermaine Pennant and Daniel Agger?

Pennant - we have agreed with Portsmouth. We are waiting for news but I think it will be okay. I think he'll say yes and everything will be sorted.
i hope pennant goes to portsmouth, cos they have some nice games coming up which could help sway the table again tongue.gif

Added on January 17, 2009, 11:32 pmbtw, has anyone been to al-ikhsan recently?
i just dropped by the subang parade branch, and was looking at the current home jersey cos a friend was interested.

i swear if i saw the same jersey outside, i would've said it was a fake.
the quality of the badge stitching is nowhere as good as it should be.
and i went thru the whole 6-7 of them they had on the rack, all about the same lower quality.

Fernando Torres is happy to admit he arrived at Liverpool dreaming of Champions League glory - but he now has his sights firmly set on helping the Reds end their long wait for the Premier League title.
Torres - who is likely to start against Everton on Monday night after recovering from a hamstring strain - is keen to fire the Reds to top spot in May to ensure Rafael Benitez's squad of 2008-09 are forever written into the club's history.

After arriving in the summer of 2007 Torres reveals his dream was winning a European medal - but the fans soon impressed upon him what the main target was.

"No, no, the Premier League, we must win the Premier League," he recalled. "So now I feel that way, too. I know about this club. I know how important it is to win the Premier League after 19 years. I know that if Manchester United win the League this season it will be 18 titles for us and 18 for them, so we cannot let that happen.

"I know that even though Chelsea and Arsenal are top teams, our biggest match of any season is with Manchester United. I know how important it is to win against Everton, too.

"I imagine to win the League here would be like winning the European Championship with Spain after 44 years. We became heroes of the country, just 23 people.

"There were 15 kilometres from the airport to the heart of Madrid and it was like a red sea, millions of people in the city centre all with Spanish flags, people stopping dead on the opposite side of the motorway to cheer us as we went by, getting out of their cars, standing on their cars.

"It was strange. After the first game when we beat Russia 4-1, I did think it could be like every other tournament for us, when we start by playing well, but then nothing happens.

"Then when we won our other group games we began to believe in ourselves and the turning point was against Italy in the quarter-finals. Throughout history, Italy beat Spain. We have the game, we have the players, but we always lose.

"And then, when we beat Italy, and on penalties, I think we celebrated more than we did when we won the Final, because we knew. That was the key.

"It is the same with Liverpool. Winning at Chelsea, winning against Manchester United, these are the results that give us belief — then, if we get a result at Old Trafford in March, it will be our Italy game."

PAPER TALK

Rafa Benitez could quit Liverpool at the end of the season if his contract demands are not met.

Jermaine Pennant last night snubbed a £3million move to Portsmouth.

Former Liverpool Steve Finnan's move to Hull from Espanyol is in doubt.

Rafa Benitez could quit for Manchester City this summer after halting ALL contract talks with Liverpool.

Rafa Benitez will walk away from Liverpool at the end of the season unless he is given total control over transfers.

Jermaine Pennant has rejected a move to Portsmouth because he wants to run down his Liverpool contract and make a lucrative free transfer in the summer.

Jermaine Pennant has urged Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez not to sell him to Portsmouth.

Updated score: Chelsea losing and United drawing.

So it's not bad to draw against 'big club killer' Stoke, isn't it? Stoke already killed Arsenal and now Chelsea in the making. But it's still bitter at the end.

Hope United won't catch us..
