To those who have already collected their baby..I've got a question about the car alarm.. I wanted to know how my car alarm sounds like.. at least if it's sound, I would know... I tried:

1. Lock and arm the alarm. Opened boot with key --> Allowed, alarm disabled because opened with valid key. Nothing went off

2. Leave one door open and lock --> Not allowed as all doors need to be closed before the alarm can be armed and all doors locked

3. Leave the boot open and lock --> Alarm armed for all the doors (with 2 signal blinks, normally 3), leaving the boot open, alarm didn't go off

So.. how can I make the alarm go off (without force entry of course.. just for testing purposes)? hahaha

No need to sneak in. You just sit inside and on the alarm, then start moving around or blow at the sensor. Haha... rclxms.gif

Tried.. the City's alarm volume on the weaker side eh...so soft?? Can adjust ah? Hahahaha

Err, this one, I don't know. I tried to ask Honda on how to make sound when arm and disarm. They told me that it's imported from Japan and everything is embedded in ECU. There's no way to fix beep or use horn as alarm. The only way is to fix aftermarket alarm, but that obviously will void your alarm warranty.

hmm.. okay.. Coz the beeping is like 50% softer than Vios'... Not that good though

Managed to find this on the net bro...

http://www.torque.com.sg/forums/showthread...=1231169&page=5

Supposedly original 3M mats, cut and sewn to order..

It's singapore-based though... Let's see if we can arrange a bulk order for discount, and then get a contact in singapore to help us out with it... Using exchange rate of RM2.4 = SGD 1, prices range from SGD 135 (RM324) - SGD 230 (RM552)...
*
Ow.. kinda pricy eh.. My friend told me there's a shop in USJ7 doing it.. not 3M la.. but with sewing.. will check it out this weekend

Anyone heard of diamondbrite paint coating?

I am contemplating putting on my new city, which should be coming in the next couple of days...

there's a demo video on this product... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuhG-g7sQ74

Supposedly it will protect your car's paint and for six years no need to polish/wax... Just hose off/light wash and put restorer once a month, and it will have a showroom shine for 6 years... There's even a 6 year warranty to back up their claims..

I got an ex-colleague who put it on his mazda 3, its been a year and so far he's been very satisfied...

Anyone tried this product before?? Anyone out there interested - maybe if do together can get discount.!!
*
Diamondbrite is easily RM1.6k.

I just did mine at Shine and Shield today.. Rm680 whole car... more info here:
http://www.shinenshield.com

Cheaper alternative, 3 yrs warranty..

I called and asked about it today, got to get it done at Glenmarie... It's 1388 per car... 10% discount if do in group i think...

Bout the same price as Shine N Shield, since Diamondbrite is for 6 yrs and shine N shield is 3 yrs.. But i heard shine and shield every 6 months need to send back for routine maintenance, which will set u back RM72...
*
yeah.. but diamondbrite need to send back monthly for concealer application.. i'm not sure technically whats the diff also.. but went for the cheaper alternative ler..

im interested wif the product
is that pps?
can u gip more info on pps

i.e. duration of protection?
will it protect from rain marks?
    any follow up/ maintenance fees?
*
1. Current warranty period is 36 months, or 3 years.
2. It will reduce rain marks, and makes it easier to clear off water marks by rinsing with water, or normal car shampoo (as compared to a car without PPS, water marks which are left under the sun might be hard to remove)
3. Follow up maintenance is every 6 months, which is about RM100 for our City. That itself takes 3 hours.. they will clay the surface..level the surface.. wash etc.

Sorry peeps, been out whole day doing new year shopping!! tongue.gif hehe..
Eh, mine's BBM..! I think alwintwk's edited his post already to correct it...
What colour did you book??
I am still contemplating between the PPS coating and the Diamondbrite coating... I posted something about Diamondbrite earlier on in the V1 thread, I think...

Diamondbrite costs twice as much, but has a warranty period twice as long! So far I've read lots of good reviews on the PPS coating, but my ex-colleague keeps telling me to get Diamondbrite, cos he's very satisfied with it.. No need to polish/wax for 6 yrs apparently.. Just wipe a coat of restorer after every wash, and no need to send back for upkeep every 6 months or so...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuhG-g7sQ74

http://www.autoworld.com.my/EMZine/Review/...D=RT.ATC.CAR.FS

Or maybe someone could google for more info? I'd love to know a bit more of both products before I decide... My ex-colleague is brainwashing me to go for Diamondbrite like everyday man...
Which showroom was this?
*
Hmm.. But I've read from several forums where people who did Diamonbrite, went for PPS for 2nd coating. The PPS boss Raymond told me the same thing too.. Not sure whether it's true or not lar... hahaha....

For me.. just didn't feel like doing at such a high price.. so went for the cheaper one.. and most reviews in found online is on PPS, not much on Diamondbrite..

anyone of you guys here plan to do the autolock thingy? I surveyed.. it's about RM100-120. However, the standard "lock" "unlock" button tht comes with it is kinda cheap looking.. hahaha...

anyone knows where I can get those original central unlocking buttons ar? Similar to Vios.. or Civic Hybrid ones...

*
Well..list of features:

1. Locks when you press your brake pedal..
2. Unlocks when you switch off ignition
3. Button: Up = Lock, Down = Unlock
4. If you unlock but doors are never opened, pressing brake will not re-lock until doors are opened
