Thanks, bro. Nice pics. Ok la.. I'm quite satisfied with ASM already..hehe!
Btw, a couple of things.. the 16" rims, is it silver or silver + grey? Looks a lil darker
and also.. near the foglamps, there's tis circle thinggie on the bumper.. anybody knows what's that? CAI? jk whistling.gif
*
That circle thingy is the cover to the towing hook. When the car needs to be towed with a line (like stuck in sand or mud) by another vehicle, you open the cover, screw in the towing hook and attach the line to another vehicle.

Andy tai kor, my dad insists V-kool tinting... Is it a good choice still?
*
Andy will probably tell you NO! It's because his V-Kool is rusting and peeling.

If you can forgo that and want to give it a try, hope you are luckier than him. Also you need to put up with not being SmartTag, GPS friendly.

They use very little foam if any, if you've seen how they take apart car panels at autofoam - Both Vios and City (old) have hollow car chassis with very little sound insulation padding, in fact it's more like close to zero. They use those cheap soft sponge foam thing that people use for packing goods to stuff the side sills and B pillars and it's a miserable small piece as well. The CRV, being more expensive probably has more padding but I'm fairly sure they use those sponge things as well to stuff up the pillars and sills, it's probably a little denser and of bigger size though.
*
Agreed there about the lack of sound insulation. Will drive the car for a while and see how it goes. If I'm annoyed by the sound, I'll probably Autofoam it. Besides, Autofoam also firm up the chassis and reduce body roll.

Wanna know what kind of gift or package provided by SA when u guys buy the car.. i only got free tinted... Rike Cool. Should i ask for more? By the way, the finance co call me up to submit documents for financing process... does this mean that I will get my car soon??

Free gifts vary from one SA to another. Really depends on your 'nego' skills and how generous your SA is. If you get Rike Cool free tinting, then I think it's very good already (depends on your tinting spec). Some of us here only get tinting discounts. Or free door visor or boot tray. Nothing much.

If you got the call for submitting documents, it just means they are processing your loan. It does not mean you'll be getting your car soon. Depends on your queue in the waiting list with Honda when you booked. Hope this helps.

Just stay patient and wait in anticipation.

can i change to blue?

I'm sure you definitely can, everything can but bro...need to open the dashboard to get into the bulbs underneath. Why do that to a brand new car? Unless if it bother you soooo much la. I don't think it's worth tinkering with the inside too much unless absolutely necessary. Not for a bulb, IMHO.

QUOTE(sysh @ Jan 24 2009, 12:36 AM)
You should be happy that you found your car! smile.gif
Thankfully they caught the thief. One less scumbag out there roaming stealing cars. You can just cancel the booking, if it's cash..it should be 100%.. if you used credit card.. think RM20 - RM40 will be forfeited as bank charges..
*
Like sysh said, you'll get your refund back, no worries.

But here's another POV, your car as proof in a court/police case will take time...a long time. Depends on how backed up our courts are. And according to my lawyer friends, they are slow. You might look at 3 months (quickest ever) to 12 months, maybe even longer, to ever see your car again.

I think you should keep your booking and get the new car. Once the police release your car some time in the future, check for damage, repair it if any and then sell it off as quick as you can!

Or you can always cancel and wait for the police to finish their case and release it to you.....but you wait.....................

Hope this helps.

i thought the acrylics are also orange in color. even white light but still orange effect. anyway orange is warmer and less tiring compared to blue imo.

Agreed. I thought so too that the acryclics in the meter is orange and the printed dials are also in orange. So the light that is in the meter is actually white/yellow. Blue is very tiring to look at la.

Can someone pls analyze the colors choosen by all forumers here?  rclxms.gif

You're funny Mr.Cola....hope you're not married. And just like a marriage, you give it your best shot to pick a color you like most personally. Regret or not, you'll never know for sure. Life's got no guarantees. Cannot claim warranty from God la.

Just stick to one color and go with it. Hope this helps you to decide, one final time.

Yes it's Brembo but what's in the picture is just a brake caliper cover. It's not an actual Brembo brake caliper unit, just a cheap cover to make your stock caliper look like Brembo. I think it looks a tad cheapo. If really want Brembo brakes, get the real thing, not just the cover.

thinking to get the new city.
however, wat's the best deal around now?
should expect any free petrol/tint voucher/smart tag/misc items?
discount?
*
The 2009 City by far is the best deal in the market for this segment of cars. Great looks, good features at a great price.

Standard price for S-spec is RM84,980 and E-Spec is RM89,980.

Best deal around depends on you shopping around. It's a buyers market. Your nego skills (and your SA's willing to give deals to you) will determine the best deal. Expect to get nothing...and get everything you can! Various people get varied things along with their ride. Nothing is standard. Just need to open mouth and ask the SA and twist his arms a bit. He refuse, then walk away.

Hi guys,

just had a chat with my SA yesterday, after submitting documents for loan processing. According to him, the sales of the NHC is not as hot as they predicted, mainly due to the economic recession. He said that if the situation is normal, the sales of the NHC will shoot through the roof, as it is better than the old city in all aspects.. smile.gif
Now i m just waiting for my car.. shud get around march/april.. hopefully earlier laaa.. my priority for the car..
i) tint - security and sunlight - thinking of the ecotint combo rm1.5k i think..
ii) the pps coating - for lasting shine tongue.gif
iii) maybe central locking - not sure yet.. coz will woid the warranty..

lemme know wat u guys think of the above three things.. thx.. whoever got their NHC.. please post more pics.. hehe
*
i) Yes. A good tint is absolutely necessary. Ecotint is good. Make sure side windows are security tint.
ii) PPS coating is a great idea. Our tropical climate does nasty things to the paint. Great shine factor and also help if lazy to wax, like me.
iii) Get a good alarm system (change siren as well). Void the warranty of the alarm system!! Prefer to void the alarm warranty than to lose the car.

The above is exactly what I'll do when I get the car. Other mods can wait but these 3 are first priority.

There's also issue like competition. If you compare the Peugeot 308 CKD to the NHC, suddenly it looks like you're paying more for less.

1. Good choice
2. It still does not prevent swirl marks nor is it scratch proof
3. Change to Captor RF or Cobra Tracking for your best security solution. Everything else just waste of time imo.
*
Agreed with Captor RF.

Those who're interested go to : http://www.netstar.com.my/

Interestingly, Proton cars come equipped with Captor RF as optional (i think, correct if I'm woring). Most owners don't even realise this.

and anyone can share more about the waxing thing?
*
It's not the waxing thing but called Paint Protection System (PPS). For more info, go to : http://www.shinenshield.com/

Some of us here have done PPS for their NHC. Go check earlier posts for info and pictures. Sorry, can't remember which posts #.

About the "PPS", anyone can explain how many brand are available out there? and how much?

About the GPS security, anyone can explain too??

thanks
*
PPS is one of several brands of paint protection that's available in the market. Others I can think of is DiamondBrite, which costs a lot more expensive than PPS at abtRM1.5-2K for initial treatment. PPS goes for RM700 for Honda City.

Basically, it's a paint sealant (Teflon) that is applied on top of your car's clear coat. This slippery substance will provide protection to the paint by being resistant to the the sun's UV rays to prevent fading and also minimise damage due to acid rain, bird droppings. It also makes cleaning your car easier as dust and road tar is easily rinsed off the paint.

Remember, you only have ONE clear coat on your paint and once it's damaged, the damage will extend itself deeper into the paint if care is not given to the paint. PPS (or any other form of paint sealant) offers you another layer of protection for the car's paint and gives it a showroom shine that lasts longer than conventional wax. Waxes will melt in our Malaysian climate in a few weeks, polish will eat into your paint, one micron at a time. Paint protection systems help the car look great in years to come.

I have some worries here bout the thick security film.

What is accident happen, can we break the window from the inside to escape assume that the door jam.
*
This is a pros and cons question but I'll try to explain your options :

Pro :
- provides protection for intruders (snatch theives/hijackers) by creating a barrier between you and the intruder. Buys you time to drive away and escape.
- in case of accident, the film will hold the glass pieces, preventing it from spraying in your face (also true of solar tinting films)

Cons
- if in case of accident and the door is jammed, it will take a little bit more effort to get out.
- while thicker is better protection but too thick will result in your power window motor working harder to open and shut your window. Might also scratch the film as the fit is too tight.

Security films are not unbreakable. They are high tensile polymer films that can withstand higher forces. It will still break but it takes between 10-20 hits from a baseball bat before it fails. This is the TIME you are buying for yourself in case of an attack.

Decide for yourself, which is more likely to happen to you and make your choice. My money goes to the security film...for protection.

You're most welcome. I once inquired for the system because I'm too interested to fix in my new car. They said if you take both at one time, the installation price will be RM4000. If you take either one, it'll cost RM2500, if not mistaken. Monthly fee will be at around RM200 for both. Installation will take one full day. Before installation, they need to see your car first because different car, they'll fix in different position. This is to drag/delay thieves/robbers time to search for the system. One day when I go up to KL, I'll visit their HQ and get more information from them before briefing more.

Yes, it's really worth it to install. Thieves/robbers are around us. Even this will prevent car hijackers too. If you prioritise security as your main one, then this is a good beginning step to start with.

For security film, yes, security film indeed useful for blunt objects. Most of the thieves/mat rempits whack your car windows with helmet on stop-to-go junction. That's how you're protected with. Even for car accidents, the pieces of glass will not fly all over, thus minimise passengers' injuries. It'll be like the whole piece of window drop out instead of small pieces of glass.
*
For everyone's info about Captor, 3 systems are available : Captor RF, Captor GPS and Captor RF/GPS/GSM

Price :
Captor RF - RM2100 (inclusive of 1st year annual fee of RM150) subsequent year : RM150
Captor GPS - RM 2500, monthly fee of RM48 (viewing only) or RM98 (printable reports)
Captor RF/GPS/GSM - RM4000, monthly fee of RM48 (viewing only) or RM98 (printable reports)

For more info, visit the HQ's website at : www.netstar.com.my icon_rolleyes.gif

When you're there at the site, click on 'Partners' and check to see if your car insurance company has offers. thumbup.gif

RM1300 according to the sample booklet, it is "AP" version of CR70 which only can warranty locally... But who knows if they really give the real CR70 right with that price which is very good...

ivtec2, just go to the place I mentioned.. Tell them you want 3M mats.. They will measure and cut the perfect fitting size for your car, standard price RM150.

Lunacry, with a normal 16' rim, it can fit at least a 205/55 or 205 50... But NHC 16' is something special or "abnormal" is this case, coz it can't fit 205 sized tyre, it is just a 16' rim without standard 205 width tyre space. The furthest you can go is 195/50 or 195/55... So if you just planning to change to 195, it is totally ok with the stock rim... If you want 205 tyre, you need to get another 16' rim.

Added on February 2, 2009, 9:20 am3M have security tint as well... If you want the stats I can provide you
*
The stock 16" rims of E-Spec NHC is 16x6J...so theoretically it can support up to 205/50/16. In actual practice, it's okay but not advisable. You need to change to a wider rim, 16x7J or 16x7.5J...will will cost more. I agree that NHC has weird rim and tyre sizes. 185/55/16 and 16x6J...

Better run the rims and tyres till the are out and then decide. Or else, just stick to 195/50/16 tires. Better for FC and less rolling resistance as well.

Sure cheaper than 17"? I thought is more expensive?
This is what I hold back when I want to change. I ended up in 16".
*
I believe 17" tyres are more expensive than 16-inchers. Even for the same make and brand eg. Bridgestone RE001 205/50/16 and 205/50/17. Unless someone tells me otherwise....I could be wrong.
