Are you sure it is genuine 3M CR70? 1600 something is "AP" version according to what I know... Only can warranty locally... And not 99.7 % blocking...

And 3M mat best price I got is RM150 for whole car...
*
I'm doubting it's original 3M CR70 as well. Reason is, my tint setup is a little complicated as there will be 3 types of films used :

Front windscreen : 'new' 70 - CR70 look and properties except its IR refection is only 70% instead of 99.7%. This is because I wanted it to be SmartTag friendly. Lower heat rejection but have to sacrifice as I don't want to wind down window to pay toll.
Read windscreen : Original 3M CR70 - as I wanted full IR rejection (since front windscreen is already lower by almost 30%)
Side windows : Original 3M 6mil security film with 99.7% IR rejection (for toughness and heat control)

All in : slightly almost 2.5K. I think it's a fair price for what I needed it to do.

Original 3M Nomad mats for whole car will not costs RM150 but higher. It usually costs between RM300-350. I think the cheaper ones are 3M look alikes. The Original 3M Nomad mats I've seen have the wording '3M Nomad' printed on the bottom while the look alikes don't have it.

Just thought I'd share this info.

How do we know whether it is 'AP' version or the real CR70? Any method to check?

And does this 3M tinting violates JPJ regulation?

Do you think it is advisible to cut a small hole for that SmartTag' or shall choose a lower grade IR instead?
*
I have no idea how to check AP or original. Perhaps checking both tints under the light and see which one feels hotter as the one with the lower IR rating will feel hotter. biggrin.gif

Personally, I don't advise cutting a hole for SmartTag. I think it spoils the look of your windscreen. I just prefer one whole piece of tint. That's why I am okay with a lower IR rating.

then you should ask your SA.. what's the logic in that?
i think maybe the reason was so the piston ring will set well when you rev hard in the initial few kms of the car
*
Yes, the reason to rev hard (not red line the bugger but hard enough) is to set the piston rings against the piston chamber wall. This is the only time you can do it as after the first few hundred kilometres, the piston chamber wall would have been smoothened out already. It's a one-time opportunity to do it in your brand new engine. The key is to keep the pressure on the engine for a longer period, so start-stop traffic and short trips to the kedai will not do. Only highways will provide you the path to do so.

So I'll be heading off to the highway this Thurs upon receiving my car! He he he... rclxm9.gif

No no no, it means don't open VTEC. Rev a bit is enough already.
*
Ha ha ha...of course not open VTEC la...open VTEC means above 4.5K RPM right? Don't worry, not intending to fried the bugger, just running it in with a little gusto.

Went to one of the showrooms at OKR.  Had a very bad experience.  I was the only one who was not being served at all!  Everyone else's SA was busy demonstrating how the car performed etc to their prospective clients except mine, who just followed my back and said nothing.

I got so angry and walked off.  Before leaving the showroom, I said it very loud to my family 'Let's go since he din want to serve us and not interested in doing my business'.

Mb I dont look like one who can give him business?

Very very bad experience with Honda.
*
It's not Honda that you should be pissed with, it's the OKR dealer!

Just my 2 cents, go to Jalan 222 or Jalan University (Sumber Auto) showroom instead. They will serve you better and treat you better. I got mine from Sumber Auto. They are now in Jalan Universiti but will move to a bigger place (very canggih) on the 27th Feb near the old showroom.

May I know where is the new location?  what package did you get?  Perhaps I may consider looking for your SA.  How is city so far?  I din quite like when I close the door the sound is just so loud, worse than my wira.
*
This is the new location to Sumber Auto's Honda Showroom. They will operate form there from 27th Feb 2009. Currently still in their old place in Jalan Universiti, just before Sin Chew.

Sumber Auto new location map

Going there later to sign documents for the car. It has arrived.

Hey Guys,

A question on tinting ....

After tinting your car, would you do anything if you notice tiny bubbles on the tint...?? Or you should expect 100% bubbless ...???

TQ
*
Some tiny bubbles may occur immediately after tinting. It usually takes a week or so for them to disappear after getting baked in the sun. If still persists or apparent, go back to your tinting shop and tell them to redo. They should do it for you at no extra charge.

Hmmm...looks like time to bug your SA. She can't just keep quiet and pretend it's okay.
