You know - I just did a rough calculation:

That's about RM800 worth of equipment if not more. For about RM100 more you could have gotten the Pivot Throttle Controller - although I haven't used it - the advertised specs sounds really juicy smile.gif

You are right bro...easily >rm800 setup... actually I have another set of Pivot installed at another car (Myvi) that included e-drive & e-nenpi (http://pivotjp.com/product/flame-e-drive_top-e.html) which price to pay equivalent to this 3-drive thingy.... & the way I look at it, I really no idea how to DIY to do connection & have to leave to expert installer to do the job. I still blur how this 3-drive helped to save fuel, probably it is just similar to e-drive? I don't know..haha. Can you enlighten me? rclxub.gif

I booked on 22-Dec-09 can get on Feb. I think you prob can get Feb also. Honda is mass producing it, 1.5k per month. Get ready your downpayment and welcome your Honda back home. biggrin.gif

After @ 7pm:

No difference? Because it's a new car! smile.gif

Surface is smooth and waxy after PPS. The shinny effect is there, and hoping it will last.

You may PM me if you are interested for the group rate. smile.gif

It's for protection on your paint, the longer you wait, the more damage on the paint is done. Not to mention on those hard to clean tar. It makes your car easier to clean.

Makes me think of why we wrap the books in primary/secondary school when we first bought it, and not 6months later. smile.gif

Read from reviews from other users that it could last for yrs.

They give 3yrs warranty on the protection. With cleaning once every 6-12months back in the workshop, it could last at least 3yrs.

I've read about the eco-pedal system by Nissan on Paul Tan's blog and I think the e-drive system has the same principle. The e-nenpi system is a MID. Your Honda comes with MID but the output is not as detailed as e-nenpi.

The link I provided does the installation for you. It only works with DBW engines. That means the new Honda City qualifies, all Toyota cars have no problems either.

From the explanation given and my understanding, it controls the throttle valve when you press the accelerator.

In normal mode - it works with the default manufacturer's programming
In eco mode - it ensures that no matter how hard you press the pedal, it will control your acceleration by limiting how much the valve opens hence saving precious fuel
In sports mode - it works in the opposite manner and speeds up your acceleration at the expense of fuel consumption. I assume this also gives you better torque in a faster period of time.

The throttle response controller modifies throttle response behavior based on the mode you select, so improvements are via electronics and software programming. In actuality, there's no HP increase at all

Unfortunately, PPS still does not protect your car from stone chips that will still scratch your car. Also I'm curious, does it make your car immune to swirl marks? I don't think so right?

Not only that, if bird drops on your car, you've to clean immediately. Otherwise, it'll be the same too.

I know this is a late reply, and I had a brief test drive - the car is tuned for comfort, and rides well. But I felt the engine note was a bit too loud when pressed down, its very vocal indeed! Plenty of cheap hard plastics, but decently put together. Noted that the sound quality from the sound system was very good. Although it had 120hp, it certaintly did not feel like it la, I guess tuned more for economy than acceleration. The 1.8 Civic is more refined and gives a better drive, although that's a different class all together. Lots of rear legroom tho! Cheers rclxms.gif

I think you still need to polish your car first before applying PPS. But it definitely works much much better than wax, which needs to be reapplied every month or 2. You can definitely clean off dirt easier and but it does not protect your car from stone chips or normal wear and tear derived from car wash etc. Hence, even with PPS - it still wouldn't prevent swirl marks from appearing.

Not sure about the bird droppings issue, I would reckon PTFE to be highly resistant against it as compared to wax. Just not resistant to normal wear and tear biggrin.gif
