On another point, I went to Nokia Care Centre at Plaza Berjaya today at around 11.30 am to get the earpiece problem resolved. They wanted me to leave the phone there for 2 days and I insisted that Nokia staff had told me that it should be a "quick" job. So I managed to get it replaced and by 2.00pm the phone was ready. So far so good, loud and clear. For those going to that particular Nokia Care Centre, please note that they open only on Sat and are closed on SUn. On Sat they open up to 3pm so if anyone wants to fix anything, go early. They're open at 10 am, else go on weekdays.

Exactly. So please insist for them to repair by 2 hrs. Don't leave it there unless absolutely necessary, By the way on the jobsheet they put they replaced the whole earpiece and not repair it, cannot verify though. Oh and also, nothing can be done about the ill fitting casing that causes light leakage or so they tell me, seems the 5800 is prone to this problem.

Try disabling your bitdefender or any other virus detection programs first. Of course, it'll be better to be disconnected from the internet when you do that. Sometimes the virus detection programs detect certain exe files as trojans etc. Works for me when I tried to install other similar software. Good luck.

Added on January 11, 2009, 7:04 amGarmin currently has not issued an update to support touch UI so it does not work 100%. Try reading V2 or V3 of the thread for info. Anyway we have been warned about discussing about hacks and such by the mods, pandai pandai google and get the info yourself.

Anyone got these problems:

1. When after connecting via WLAN, unable to disconnect. I had to restart the phone
2. Sometimes screen wallpaper goes to black & white when an event occurs

Handy Shell is not freeware. Hope that answers your question. Use Google for more information, if you know what I mean.

Point to take note of. If you install your theme on the memory card be aware that if you're the type to regularly remove your memory card for usage, then there is a high chance that every time you remove the card, your installed theme will stop. You then have to reactivate the theme upon reinsertion of memory card. For myself I install themes on the phone memory so no issues.

Go to the nearest Nokia Care Centre or Service Centre, check it out at the Nokia Malaysia website. Bring your warranty card. Be sure to backup your phone contents to the memory card as they might need to do a reset but for mine no need. It should be a 1hr - 2hr job. Ask them to replace the earpiece.

Happened to me too, just restart the phone. worked for me. Now no issue.

Say, the Windows Live messenger for 5800 is for HK right? I installed and some of the info were in Chinese, any English only version?

Yes, even so the links are all to MSN HK with no way to change the address that I cam find. Minor matter but....would be nice though if it can be changed. I'm a banana

Mine came back without a scratch. Does not fix the gap that exist at the top right corner though. Like Pana said this is a trade off for gadgets made from plastic sometimes. Anyway it's only noticeable if you're looking for it and when it's dark.

Added on January 12, 2009, 11:11 amYou must install all the files and folders in the root of the memory card i.e. drive E:, there should be a document explaining how to install together with the zip package, read that. Then it should work perfectly. Don't have it with me so can't show you.
