i second sieghart comments
if theres 120m pounds offer for fabregas,
take it and buy those as below
but then again,knowing wenger style.
sell 120m,keep 120m and dont buy anyone
if he plans to do that. id rather not have him sell fabregas
few ways to look at it  unsure.gif

u sure those guys wanna come to emirates? especially after cesc left..just look at us after henry left..wheres hleb & flamini? thats why i dont think wenger will sell..

but if they wanna come here, why not? thumbup.gif villa drool.gif

Haha like I said its just for fun tongue.gif Anyway its a win win situation even if Wenger doesn't get anyone to replace Fabregas if we sell him. 120m will wipe out a huge chunk of our stadium debt and Nasri so far looks to be a competent replacement. This 4 months while he is injured will be a good in sight into life without Fabregas IMO.

Bottom line is 120m for a player regardless if he is your best player or not is just plain crazy. rclxub.gif

Nope Bolton not parking the bus and are playing a pretty high line at times. Gaps all over the place just that United couldn't quite exploit them just yet.

Chelsea have been hammering Stoke's goal from the first minute till the last of the first half. Sorensen has been good so far. Yeah and Joe Cole out of the season with ruptured ligaments. (from a dude in an Arsenal footie forum)

Well only our fans whinge and whine when we win 1-0. I can bet the Man Utd fans will be absolutely chuffed with that. At the end of the season no matter you play sh*t or good it will all be a foot note if you are champions.

Stats time ! 6th time Van P has hit the frame of the goal this season.

I'm actually very surprised that it has been an unbelievably easy and comfortable game for us so far. Hope we can get a 2nd quickly in the 2nd half and finish this game off quickly before Hull regroup.

As much as I'd love to see that as well I don't think they will go down. Their players are too good to get relegated IMO. They will probably finish bottom half but not bottom three.

Off topic: Atalanta leading Inter Milan 3-0 at half time now ohmy.gif

Zenit boss Advocaat admits Andrei Arshavin's move to Arsenal is almost a done deal

Andrei Arshavin is set to join Arsenal

Andrei Arshavin's transfer to Arsenal is almost a done deal, Zenit St Petersburg boss d*** Advocaat has confirmed.

Arshavin held talks on Sunday with Advocaat and Zenit president Alexander Dyukov and was told the club are ready to accept an improved offer from the Gunners.

Arsenal's opening bid may have been as low as £8million, but Sportsmail understands they are prepared to go as high as £15m.

'Negotiations with Arsenal continue and the chances are very high that Arshavin will soon play in the English Premier League,' said Dutchman Advocaat.

Representatives of Arsenal are expected to meet Zenit officials on Tuesday to hammer out final details of the agreement.

Arshavin, meanwhile, stepped back from his threat to go on strike if he was not allowed to leave Zenit. He flew to Dubai on a pre-season tour for the Russian club.

Unless there is a last minute hitch, it is expected he will fly from Dubai to London later this week to join up with his new team-mates.

Btw,A.Young got a red card that day which means he'll not play for 3 more matches.I guess Villa will suffer without him and here's our chance to grab the 4th spot. biggrin.gif

He will be missing only 2 BPL games btw. 1 of them will be this weekend's FA cup matchup.

Don't worry City will come to the rescue.

Last season we took maximum points from MU but what the heck nobody took advantage.

This time we will take 3 points and CR9 and Gerard  (make them  an offer they  can't refuse). We have the money to take the honey. No?
If not sell us Ade then.
We got one stuperstar Bellimey already bungkus who is not in my fantasy Football team. Go figger.  whistling.gif

Guess the best you can sign are "superstars" like Bellamy lol No offense but Bellamy is an above average player nearing a good one at best in my opinion and until you have a realistic shot at at least a Champions League spot I doubt any of the "real" superstars with ambitions would want to sign for your club regardless of how much money you throw at their faces.

Zenit handed Arshavin ultimatum

Russian star ready to force exit

Andrei Arshavin's agent has indicated that his client would be willing to buy out his contract at Zenit St Petersburg.

The Russian playmaker is growing increasingly frustrated with the ongoing saga surrounding his future.

He has made no secret of his desire to secure a move away from his homeland during the January transfer window, but has so far failed to secure such a switch.

Premier League giants Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase for his signature, but Zenit's ever-increasing demands continue to delay any potential agreement.

"Unfortunately in this matter there is no movement," Arshavin's agent Dennis Lachter told the Russia press.

"The sticking point is, of course, money and rather the totally unacceptable amount of Zenit's demands for Andrei.

"The position of the club remains unchanged and that is the reality that we have faced for a long time.

"If the situation remains unchanged we will use Article 17 of the Fifa rules and buy out the contract of Andrei at the club, which could happen as early as November this year.

Free agent

"In that situation, Zenit would have to be satisfied with a much smaller amount than they are offered by representatives of Arsenal.

"If Andrei becomes a free agent, he will get many proposals, from England, Italy and Spain."

Arsenal are reported to have tabled a £12million pound offer for Arshavin, but Zenit believe their prized asset is worth more than that in the current market.

"The situation has not changed since Friday, which means Arsenal would like to pay only £12m, not one cent more," said Zenit's general director Maxim Mitrofanov.

"And we, at Zenit, are ready to discuss with them about maybe a better offer from our side.

"We are ready to make a step forward to them, but they should do the same.

"However, I have told the people from Arsenal we are ready to discuss a lot of things to make the situation easier for them.

"They have a deadline, as I understand, until 26th January, because after that, they should have some time to get another player and I respect this position."

Diaby + Cesc in the middle will impede Cesc's attacking potential to an even larger degree.

I've highlighted before that Diaby is as lazy as a center midfield can get, doesn't track back, doesn't chase the ball back when he loses the ball and more importantly tends to ball watch which are just a few reasons why Wenger has stuck him on the left before this for so long.

Kudos to Denilson in recent matches for covering back most of the time when paired with Diaby IMO. He has been doing the dirty job for most part in the last few games and as usual most Gooners fail to acknowledge that as they did with Gilberto before until they go missing.

Denilson has improved on his defensive side of the game which I believe has been evident in recent games and I am sure he will continue to do so. I reckon when Cesc returns it will be a rejuvenated and much improved partnership than what we have seen thus far from Cesc + Denilson if ever the Boss chooses to continue with this pairing when the time comes.
