Some guides and plug-in for Windows Media Center :
As a Summary, this REMOTE CONTROL also works with the following programs TESTED on XP platform, where you can control PLAY/STOP/PAUSE/FORWARD/BACKWARD, FAST FORWARD or BACKWARD :
Windows Media Play DVD Player Programs Winamp Foorbar GOM Player --- Tested by one of the member Windows Vista Ultimate Media Center --- Tested by one of the member
Mac OSX 10.5.6: 1. iTunes work ! i don`t even have to put the player in front of other windows for it to function 2. Frontrow also working... 3. DVD player also working (Tested by a member HERE)
RealPlayer **(RealPlayer itself can also work like the above, except those that you play it through online, like the player within a web browser, then you can not use the control. Files that you play with the RealPlayer, is ABLE to use this control.)
Other possibilities would appreciate your feedback after you have got the remote in hand.
I would in my free time, test further on other platform, and provide update whenever possible, as I am also hoping to building a entertainment system base on linux.

Can this work with the ordinary player without media center? Example windows XP with windows media player or media classic?
Bro,
YES you can, but you will need to do some tuning to your system by installing some driver program, so that the infrared signal to be bridge towards a particular program that you wanted to control, such as Winamp.
I lost the link to a SETUP guide, will see if I could find it again, and I will put it up here.

Bro,
TO use the control for other programs, perhaps you like to refer to a guide for Winamp in particular, as well as the open source project for infrared :
No linking to other sales website. If you want to utilise LYN for your sales, please remove the external link.
Anyway, I'm interested to grab one. I'll wait till my exam finishes later and read your posted links on how to tweak it. Can it work on Real Player? I doubt so right?
Added on January 5, 2009, 5:07 amI've seen your posted youtube video on post #1, why does it have the layer thingy keep coming out through out the whole video... I don't know how to describe. Hope you could understand. Is it because of the recording process on a CRT?

Hi fruitie,
Thx for the advice, already make the necessary changes.
For it to work with other programs such as Real Player, please refer to the POST #3 for some guides on the net, especially the open source project.
Besides that, the layer thing that u saw in the video, are due to the CRT referesh rate.
i'm interested to get one but lazy to go thru all all registration hassle... y dont u just do bulk order here? take order here, its much easier for ur buyer

Besides LYN, we are also seeking support from our customer base, hopefully we could achieve MOQ soon, as so far the response is very positive, and should have a better indicator next week once all our members have been contacted through email.

casey, can you update us the running MOQ number now.
Bro,
I will calculate and update on this soonest possible, as having quite a lot of things to be done at the moment.
But just an update, the ORDER is SURE to be proceed, as I will keep extra stock with me like 200~300 set, so ordering with the supplier is in the process.
I will call for payment at a later stage, as am quite tight up.
TQ for all the trust and support given, so far ordering from LYN and our own member base are pretty encouraging I would say.
if u are bulking fewer then, this bulk will pick up and running very soon, if not i dont think 500 unit will comes anytime soon, IMHO,
include one for me in ta bulk if MOQ are lower or more realistic, thanks,
pm me the bank in details and when to do it
Bro,
TQ for supporting first of all
In regards to the 500 units MOQ, we manage almost half of this through LYN and on our own network, and the extra would be take up by us for sale at higher price later when shipment arrive.
Thus just to update, that the shipment is in fact departed from China port, and we would be able to arrange delivery after CNY.
However, understand that many could be already on holiday mood......INCLUDING me
Therefore, would call for payment after CNY ....cos it time to relax and have some drinks (in facts lots of drink !! )
Last but not the least, I would take this opportunity to wish everyone GONG XI FA CAI 恭喜发财
PM me when ready to pay k...seldom check bulk order
Bros ....
TQ for your kind support
And just an update, that on estimation, I believe that the shipment should be able to reach us before 15th/Feb., so hurry up .....join us in this special price while you still can
When will you send the item? So, I'm ordering one unit and I shall be paying RM 25.00? Am I right? I'll pay asap, kinda lazy to login to M2U and wait for TAC.

skynet is funny..yesterday they came on 4pm and since i wasnt home, they left a note..so today i went to the skynet office in seksyen 13 to claim the package..they said the package is already on its way to my house and will arrive around 4-5pm..
and guess what, i waited the whole evening, and nobody came
item received. question: where can i find the driver/software to it so that i can customize all the key button?
such as press pic button will launch paint, press DVD will launch PowerDVD, press video will launch GOM player and etc etc...
im looking for the software too..perhaps there are freeware hotkey softwares can be used to configure the setting for this remote, but i still cant find it
QUOTE(UnCleHenG @ Feb 12 2009, 05:37 PM)
from the first page, i think u need Windows Media Center to control all softwares..
============
why using windows media player, i cannot fast forward nor fast rewind function while watching video?
anyone got similar problem with me?
same here..rewind and forward buttons are kinda useless..i wonder if there's any tweaking needed to be done
I retry using Windows Media Player. Here my results:
- For Avi files (DivX) - cannot rewind and fast forward using remote. I cannot rewind and fast forward using the player itself. Need to use slider. - For MP3 files - can rewind and fast forward. Player button also can use. - For Mpg files - cannot rewind and fast forward using remote. I cannot rewind and fast forward using the player itself. Need to use slider. - For WMV files - can rewind and fast forward. Player button also can use.
Depend on what files and how WMP behave to the files. So it's not remote fault. Remote is working fine.
Other player:
Quicktime player - doesn't work at all.
iTunes - rewind, forward, back, next and volume work perfectly.
Cyberlink PowerDVD DX - work perfectly in home screen mode. No DVD movie to test the button.
Divx Player - doesn't work at all.
That the only software I have now can test out. Office PC lor....
Just downloaded uICE...
Did you guys notice, when you press a button on remote, the light at receiver will light up. This is good.
already got the item this morning. havent had the chance to test it out cos dont have batteries. but overall, the build quality is superb. the remote feels heavy and solid, i thought there was already a battery inside it when i picked up the remote. nice packaging, good price, and friendly and responsible seller. strongly recommended!! -only complain is, the buttons on the remote is the soft rubber type which collects dust easily and the dust sticks like crazy. other than that, everything is fine. thanks guys!!

It's similar to TV set concept, you cannot take Sony TV remote and use with Samsung TV. Samsung TV will receive the signal but ignore since it doesn't understand. Unless if I change the controller to Sony in Samsung TV
So in this case, IR receiver might take the TV remote signal but when sent to OS, the OS will ignore it since it doesn't understand it. You need to get a software that can interpret the signal and sent out the correct and understandable by the OS.

I haven't found the software so far...
yea thats what i'm looking for so that i can train the OS to interpret the signals..i found a software called HIP but then in windows this IR receiver is not detected as an IR device.
I found a software but need to use keyboard emulation. But not all remote button recognize. If I press button 2, that software capture 2. When press, play, next, stop and some other button, software capture as 256. Some button not recognize. There is a software can use Packard Bell serial IR but not this USB type.
Actually, remote button press is similar to keyboard keystroke.
Example, while I typing here... I press button on the remote....
casey, how long are u going to sell this remote? cos i wanna sell mine with my speakers so i wanna buy another one in the future, hopefully u're still selling it later.

But I believe that our stock should be good for another 2 months from now

Okay... I just wanna put some info on this as I too bought two unit of this remote controller.
1. Item received in well packaged container. Good and fast delivery. Great work. 2. When I hook the receiver into one of my usb holes, I got the thing to be detected by windows automatically 3. However, only few buttons work. I found out that the device is detected as HID keyboard. After trying a few software I got to conclusion using EventGhost is the simplest way to configure the other controller's buttons. Just take note that when you add "Generic HID' plugin tick the 'raw..." option. 4. After installing the plugin, just remember to add another program control based on what program you are using. For example I used XBMC and Zoom Player so I installed the Program Contol plugin from it. You can configure by doing what I did:-
With the EventGhost program running, press a button on the controller. If the EventGhost successfully captured you pressing the button, on the left window of the EventGhost program you will notice that a new entry will emerge something like "HID.xxx.xxxx". Click on it and try to drag to one of the program control function that are listed such as Play. For example, press the Play button on the controller and drag and drop the emerged command onto the Play feature listed in the program control directory. DO the rest same. You will understand when you do some try and error.
Maybe my informations are not too detailed. If anybody got a better way of explaining then please do so. I am not at my home with my controller so I can't give a detailed information on how it is done.
Just remember, download lastest EventGhost software and install it. Add the plugin and remember to tick the "Raw..." option before proceeding to add in the pop up dialog box. And then you can just start drag and drop the command onto the program controller features that are listed in the directory and you are set to go. Test them!
Good luck on trying em!

this is how exactly this remote key map. u can scroll to bottom and notice that this remote control can act as a mouse. so this remote is totally worth to buy. n yet, i juz started research of it 2day. i found out this same model of remote is also used as intelivideo xpc-rc01 and also asus xpc-rc01. so no worry in buying.
He means, he want to deal with me again in the future.
Added on October 29, 2009, 8:33 amI think the most important is the receiver. I have a Philip universal remote control with learning function and already customized my Philip remote to learn some basic button function of this PC remote. Now, instead of using PC remote, I use Philip remote to control my HTPC, TV, Speaker and astro. No more pile of remotes in my living room.
