I retry using Windows Media Player. Here my results:

- For Avi files (DivX) - cannot rewind and fast forward using remote. I cannot rewind and fast forward using the player itself. Need to use slider.
- For MP3 files - can rewind and fast forward. Player button also can use.
- For Mpg files - cannot rewind and fast forward using remote. I cannot rewind and fast forward using the player itself. Need to use slider.
- For WMV files - can rewind and fast forward. Player button also can use.

Depend on what files and how WMP behave to the files. So it's not remote fault. Remote is working fine.

Other player:

Quicktime player - doesn't work at all.

iTunes - rewind, forward, back, next and volume work perfectly.

Cyberlink PowerDVD DX - work perfectly in home screen mode. No DVD movie to test the button.

Divx Player - doesn't work at all.

That the only software I have now can test out. Office PC lor....

Just downloaded uICE...

Did you guys notice, when you press a button on remote, the light at receiver will light up. This is good.

It's similar to TV set concept, you cannot take Sony TV remote and use with Samsung TV. Samsung TV will receive the signal but ignore since it doesn't understand. Unless if I change the controller to Sony in Samsung TV

So in this case, IR receiver might take the TV remote signal but when sent to OS, the OS will ignore it since it doesn't understand it. You need to get a software that can interpret the signal and sent out the correct and understandable by the OS.

I haven't found the software so far...

I found a software but need to use keyboard emulation. But not all remote button recognize. If I press button 2, that software capture 2. When press, play, next, stop and some other button, software capture as 256. Some button not recognize. There is a software can use Packard Bell serial IR but not this USB type.

Actually, remote button press is similar to keyboard keystroke.

Example, while I typing here... I press button on the remote....

078965412 (this keyin using remote)

You can try to use with Windows Media Center if you running Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate.. Also work greats with Windows Media Center in Windows 7 RC.

If not need to get it which is not free.

Did I say, you can try to use with Windows Media Center if you running Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate.

That means it's a software within the Vista not the OS.
