I see got several theme parks in Gold Coast. Are they similar to Disneyland or Universal Studio, which are very big and take one day in the park?

Actually two companies own the 5 major theme parks there. So when u buy the ticket, u can buy bundled prices for all the parks they own. Check their website for prices.

If u have kids and like all the parades and performance then go to :
Movie world, sea world
And the water park next to movie world if u like amazig water rides (sorry forgot the name)

If u like thrilling rides and just wanna scream then go to:
dream world and white water world
Also in dream world they have a mini-zoo which u can see Australian wildlife like kangaroos and koalas

If you're the type that want to try every single ride, allocate one day per park.
Check and avoid when is school holiday in Australia. And if in winter don't waste time going to water parks.

The 5 major theme parks are Dreamworld, White Water World, Movieworld, Sea world, and Wet n Wild?
I do not have kids, so I don't like if the theme park has most of the "for kids only" rides. Any of this 5 is like this?

Then you should go to Dreamworld, the rides here are pretty kick ass. As for the others...
White Water is a small ride, it's quite "for kids". But if you're buying Dreamworld tickets, you probably just top up a little for this park, go check prices on their website.

The remaining 3 parks are one same company:
Movie world is very "for kids", although there are a few thrilling ones, but mostly kids.
Sea World is quite "for kids", but it can be quite interesting for adults as well, cos they have dolphin & walrus performances, u get to see penguins and other marine life. Interesting if you've never seen before.
Wet n Wild is a mixture, but it's less of "for kids", rides are quite thrilling here
